I know we are a young team this year, but I think we can make up experience with talent. Ainge will me the Star on O and he's going to make a impact this year. Our D won't be the best but we will have a hell of one. Call me crazy but I think we have a shot at a BCS this year. But what do I know

lose to Bama........that won't sit well this year....ouch. having said that, they'll be all riled up for that game, at Bama, with coach savior at the helm........it should be one hell of an atmosphere.

I agree, jakez - Tennessee has 5 games that will go either way, Alabama included.

Around 85% of this board is probably underrating Alabama. Granted, I could be very wrong about their 2007 fate, but I'm confident in my analysis of the SEC.

i won't argue that.......i think the SEC has some questions this year......the top of the conf. in LSU and FL have some big holes to fill, both have plenty of "talent" on roster, but they have to grow up to fill the shoes of some of the guys no longer there.

then there's this second tier.....TN, Bama, SC, UGA, Auburn.....all seem like they're in the same boat....young last year, lose a few key components, have new additions coming supposedly that will make a difference.....

it's going to be interesting...........and the saddest thing is that if TN is not on the upper hand of those 2nd tier teams, someone may very well lose their job...the way i look at it, that 2nd tier is all in the same boat......could be real good, could be pretty darn average.

i'll put it this way.......of all those teams in the SEC...FL, LSU, Bama, SC, Auburn, GA and TN......which coach will be under the most fire if they go 8-4???

exactly.........i figure 9-3, which is not real good with that schedule. 10-2 would be my cut off point. but anything less than 9-3, oof...it would just be plain bad.

I may sometimes underrate them, but they certainly don't have the talent of the 2003 Tigers.

If these results occur then you will be correct about Stevie boy gleefully delivering the killshot. Would he then take the job on the Hill, where he has always wanted to be?

No. Too large a portion of our fan base is more concerned about hating Spurrier than they are winning football games. We'd never make the call.

I cannot fathom Spurrier coaching UT. Not saying he wouldn't enjoy the irony and the challenge, but I cannot see the UT alum swallowing their pride and asking the blasphemer to stand on the home side at Neyland.

I don't know man. Winning seems to be an interesting concept here. Regardless of the fanbase hatred of Spurrier, I believe Hamilton has the ability to recognize the immense coaching and recruiting skills of the Darth Visor.

Tennessee - 28
Cal - 17

Pretty close game, but Tennessee puts it away toward the end.

Tennessee - 27
Southern Miss - 10

They jump out to a 10-3 lead, but UT gets it in gear and plays solid football down the stretch to win fairly easily.

Tennessee - 20
Florida - 10

Close Game, much like the Cal game, but UT gets a late TD to hold the Gators off.

Tennessee - 48
Arkansas State - 14

Tennessee rarely shuts out teams. Arkansas State does score against our first team, but gets another late TD against the 2nd team.

Tennessee - 14
Georgia - 24

Georgia comes into our house, goes into the kitchen and makes them a sandwich. :cray:

Tennessee - 34
Mississippi State - 17

UT goes on the road and takes care of buisness, pretty or not.

Tennessee - 14
Alabama - 10

A hard fought battle leads us to beat Alabama. Very close game.

Tennessee - 17
South Carolina - 24

Steve Spurrier continues to own Fulmer.

Tennessee - 41
La Laffayette - 6

Good Homecoming game.

Tennessee - 38
Arkansas - 24

Arkansas has too many off season problems to be as good as they were.

Tennessee - 21
Vanderbilt - 7

Tennessee gets revenge in Neyland this time.

Tennessee - 23
Kentucky - 17

UT gets another close, hard fought game but pulls it out.

Georgia wins the east. :cray:
LSU wins the west. :ermm:

Tennessee finishes 10-2.
But only a non BCS Bowl game.

Again, the alum simply could not stand the notion. Spurrier would love the plot twist but there's no way the Vol faithful ever forgive him for spelling C-I-T-R-U-S.
