Young Republicans worry about McCain's appeal - CNN.com

At a town hall meeting in Ohio this month, a student told McCain that Republicans were a dying breed on his campus.
"I understand the challenge I have, and I understand that this election is really all about the people of your generation," McCain said.
Many young Republicans said Sen. Barack Obama -- the 46-year-old junior senator from Illinois -- is inspiring voters their age, but McCain -- the 71-year-old senator who has been in office since the early '80s -- is not.
Eric Pearlmutter, a member of the Young Republicans at the University of Southern California, said the roaring enthusiasm that follows Obama is missing among conservatives his age.
"We try to get people out to our college Republican meetings, but ... we can't seem to draw the same kind of vocal support," he said.

Thoughts?

maybe some young Democrats should pay some tax bills, then there would be more young Republicans.

If people were forced to write that check for the entire amount of their tax liability...instead of the government taking it out a little bit at a time...we would also see few Democrats.

Someone sent this to me in an email. I thought it would be well received here. I didn't think it deserved its own thread, so...

Considering the Republican track record lately, I'd think the opposite punchline to this comic would make more sense. :p

I am not really that familiar with the writer of the Wizard of Id, but I assumed the text had all been doctored.

Not that you asked me, but I'm fairly sure he was a R. I'm not saying that wasn't messed with, but I swear it seems like I've read other ones like that.

My bad. I'm an idiot.

Actually, Wiz of Id is one of the few comics I'll look at (whenever I read the comics, that is). Bizarrely funny much of the time.

Mallard Fillmore definitely is.

That comic is to R's as Doonesbury is to D's.

Tenn NC quit looking at the comics when they did away with all the pretty colors.:)

Upon further inspection, the first two panels appear that they may be legit, but the font in panel three is clearly different.

The original probably said something about the king being a fink :p

the picture of McCain toodling around with HW Bush in the golf cart isn't the image he needs to project. Two old, rich, white guys hobnobbing at a country club? Way to feed the stereotype!

"Now watch this drive".....

Shooter McCain: " Bush spends more time in the sand than David Hasselhoff."

"I tell you, the real winner today is the city of Kennebunkport. Every time I come here it gets hard to leave. I bet you put something to the water."
