Glad to see these players getting time -
Elliot Berry
Bates
Kelly
Byrd
Warrior
Kongbo (missed him during TAM)

and others.. This will pay dividends down the stretch and into next season.

Who is this Paul Bain fellow? Will we see him?

Given the number of injuries last weekend and the lack of experience on the field at the end of the game, I am impressed. Great job off the bench!

yeah, but don't think Butch planned it this way...no choice...:hi:

GO VOLS!

Nope. He did not. 2016 was to be the year of our return to the top, to grab the SECE at least. That goal is still within reach but getting harder with each game and injury. I don't think we have enough on defense to win vs Bama so I know this will be borderline heresy but I'd sit and rest the injured and take advantage of the looming open date. Get this team as healthy as possible for the stretch run vs teams we can and should beat. Would not risk them against Bama. Not saying we can't win but the odds are long. Be smart and keep eyes on the prize. Don't be blinded by the one game. Win the east and you likely get them again in a game that will define Bama's season. Beat them in the title game and you ruin their season. That's the game that really counts. This one, while important, not so much.

Shut up with that non sense! GTFO in fact!!! Don't ever come up in here saying we should just lose to BAMA so we can get healthy. WTF are you smoking?! We don't back down to BAMA anytime we play them. This is Bama hate week. Not pack your balls up and go home week. You should be looking at that we my have the opportunity to beat them twice this season. This game is always important. Remember that. SMH

Injuries are part of every football team every year. I hate those that use them as excuses. What it really tells you is that we are not as good as pre-season advertised (again) because we do not yet have depth across the team. Need to be 85 strong; not just 22 strong. That is why Bama and other good teams win each year. Great depth.

If we finish 10-2 and with or without an SEC title shot, we have had a pretty good season.

It is a good thing.

I just wish they were getting their PT in garbage time in blowouts, instead of starting against undefeated, top-ten opponents.

Heresy? Not at all. But you don't throw in the towel before the fight. When the game is 5-10 min. in and Bama has lost say 2 or 3 of their main players and we also found as the game started a couple of others will be held out? One reason you play the game. If as time goes on in the game and proves to be a lost cause, then you rest guys, from QB on down ,and get ready for 1/2 half.

We do need a bye week and some garbage time against some inferior competition.

Having said that - All I've seen of Dormady is handoff to Kelly, take a knee. Good reps in stressful games can't be replicated in practice, nor in garbage time.

Another uneducated football fan......Yes injuries are part of the game. But our reserves have filled in well, so depth not a problem. The problems all year have been the slow starts plus the turnovers and fumbles that we didn't lose that broke momentum. Hey, we came inches within beating A & M with 7 turnovers and I went back and watched the second half last night and none of the 4 turnovers in second half were forced. Just mistakes on our part. I think the turnover problem is the fact they are trying so hard they momentarily lose focus. Not good but fixable. We are beating Alabama if we don't turn the ball over.

Do not rest them during the game. Might want to give them limited snaps during practice but play them in the game.
Remember "you play to win the game"

Imagine we lose by one point and we follow your suggestion, then losing that game without some of our best players on the field could mean the difference between being in the play offs and not being in the play offs etc. etc.
If we lose by a slim margin then we will always question, what if we played the slightly injured players, could their play have made the difference in the game.

No regrets!!! Play them all

Kelly's fumble was a direct result of him not holding on to the ball and getting it knocked out. Not sure how that isn't unforced.

Actually he was trying to switch hands and put the ball towards the sideline side when he bobbled it. It wasn't knocked loose by anybody.

The players mentioned above plus Kelly and Jumper will make this team deeper next season and this team has a lot of heart and resolve to keep battling on Saturday against Texas A&M and they will give Alabama a solid game this weekend if they can eliminate the turnovers and penalties.

Especially those playing D. TA&M were the best offensive team in the SEC coming in to that game. They certainly can play and have talent on that side of the ball. Lots of negavol types will not want to hear or read this but the fact remains, either our defense contained their best in the SEC offense enough or our offense outperformed their best in SEC offense enough to best their total offense yardage by a 100 yards.

Not throwing in the towel. What I'm saying is that if guys like Kirkland aren't 100%, rest them this week and they also get the bye week as well. Get them really healed for the stretch run. Same for others who, while they might be able to play, would benefit from another week to recover. We still fight like hell to beat Bama, but choose who we put into battle this week with an eye on the rest of this schedule.

Our young guys seem to be progressing, but if you think we should sit people against bama you have lost your mind. This is the game...THE GAME to show the world what we are about. #wgwtfa

alaBummer is ranked # 1 in the country.

They have talent and depth deeper than most any other team in the country.

After we WIN this game in Neyland we should become ranked in the top 5.

We will also basically own the SEC East Championship.

Plow through the rest of the regular season and get the WIN in the SEC Championship game and we get the chance we all want to try to WIN in the playoffs.

No matter what we NEVER rest anyone that's able to play against alaBubba, we fight to WIN at all times!

This is our best opportunity to stake our claim and make it well known that Tennessee footVol is BACK and a serious contender for the playoffs.

RISE TO THE TOP!!!

Team 120 is earning respect WIN by WIN...VFL...GBO!!!

THIS was supposed to be our year, but it seems to have been derailed by injuries. It's fine for young guys to get PT, but you don't beat the no. 1 in the country with inexperienced youngsters--and of course we lose some major playmakers after this year. Not to be negative, but our offense won't be nearly as good next year. That's why this game is so important.

I thaught next year would be a pretty good drop off, but now I feel way better about the team we will be fielding next season
