In this morning's Orlando Sentinel:

"Dave Curtis | Sentinel Staff Writer

GAINESVILLE - As the Tennessee Volunteers prepared to play Florida last month, the coaches in Knoxville kept referring to UF's quarterback as "Superman." They'd pipe Superman theme music into practices.

And then, with the starting defense on the field set to practice against the Gators' plays, reserve quarterback B.J. Coleman wore a Superman cape as he ran the scout team.

That's what the world thinks of Timothy Tebow, who was expected to be more powerful than a locomotive and all the rest."

The coaches did WHAT??? :whatever: I don't know about the rest of you, but something about this just doesn't sit right with me. :realmad: How about MORE TACKLING, LESS ROLE PLAYING? Jeez... :dunno:

The CBS announcers discussed this during the game.

I agree. It was an idiotic thing to do...unless you're going to actually slow him down.

Sorry, I was at a sports bar full of UT alumni watching the game, the volume situation was pretty bad, and I didn't hear the announcers...

The first thing that came out of my mouth after the UF loss was, "maybe they should try preparing for a game, instead of letting BJ run around trying to poke fun at Tebow"

it's one of those things that's usually contingent on the outcome. if we'd been more effective at stopping Tebow, our coaches would've been hailed for "a brilliant psychological technique."
