To all who are calling for Pruitt to be fired I ask you: What top level coach would comer here at the stage this program is in right now? It's a total hot mess. And no, money won't do it either. A top level coach can get a job paying high $ at plenty of other schools so TN is not a desired school these days like some you still think it is. And the many HC changes is mostly how we sunk to this level so keeping Pruitt at least 4 yrs probably makes sense just to see if he can stabilize the program and then maybe a top notch HC can be hired.

I am not a Pruitt supporter so don't flame me for that, just saying take a look at the overall picture of the program before you just call for everyone to be fired. Thats not the answer right now.

Alright in 3 years we will be looking for a new coach simple as that. Stupid is as stupid does.

Texas got Tom Herman! That program was in as bad of shape as we was/are and they sit in one the richest talent pools in the country. No one will convince me that Texas has as much tradition and backing as Tennessee. It’s all about getting the right guy and being willing to do whatever it takes to get him.

I thought Pruitt was a desperate hire, but he knows talent and was making some noise in getting talent here again. I just hope he can right the ship, because we still have a long ways to fall still before we axe him and start over again.

I don't know what the right answer is, I'm just at my wits end trying to stay positive in supporting this team. Its just becoming more of a burden than a joy.

On paper this team isn’t untalented, the past few recruiting classes have been top 25 classes, the talent is there, the right coach can win with it.

The program isn’t as big a mess as some make it out to be, again no excuses for what we saw yesterday. That should never have happened, Pruitt obviously isn’t the guy, if the last three games didn’t show that then nothing will.

No sense in wasting another two years, cut your losses and move on

Exactly, we know he won't get it done now so why prolong it?

Yesterday really sucked, but that’s an idiotic statement. Pruitt has only two classes on his roster so far. Both lines were going to be an issue this year yet you want to fire him before even year 2 has barely started?

There’s a buyout TN is still paying because of Butch Jones until next year. Would make absolutely no sense to fire him now. If anything, they would wait until this contract is up and Jones is paid off so they could actually spend on an experienced HC if they want to still fire him then.

Everyone wants to fire him now yet was saying before this year started that he should have a minimum of 3 years.

Texas, nor any program in the country for that matter, was in as bad of shape as we were/are

We have had top coaches say they were interested and UT couldnt or wouldnt close the deal. AD has been a disaster for a while.
They were interested in us then then other programs started pursueing them and they pick them instead. Strong to Texas, Mullen to Florida, etc.

The only legitimate candidate was Gary Patterson, now for sure this was an AD thing. But it's not like we haven't tried in the years after that.

And with new information opinions change. I thought three years min too but that went out the window yesterday. Team didn't care and neither did he. Cut bait, move on. It's why Florida has Mullen and we have another search coming up.

Mike Leach.....hell at this point look for a mid major guy that know how to build a fundamentally sound team and prep / motivate a team. Not some hot shot with no hc experiencence that thinks he is Nick Saban.
