We could have lost to Appalachian St. and suffered probably one of the worst losses Tennessee has had in a long time. OR we could enjoy the win we got tonight. A lot of us expected it to be a blowout win but I always thought they was a good enough football team to keep it close. We didn't play our best football and I believe we'll get better as the season goes on but there's still a lot of room for improvement. Maybe this is a lesson learned that you should take every team on your schedule seriously. Hats off to Appalachian St. on a hard fought game. I rather take a lucky win over a loss any day. 1-0 guys. Go Vols!

Is it okay to celebrate the win and still feel utterly embarrassed? :ermm:

I would rather them get a big helping of humble pie right now and possibly fix them problems. I also think these guys had game jitters bad tonight.

I see you listed the two ways scenarios, but what about the one way scenario? I usually just look at things one way instead of two ways. Sometimes, if two ways exist, I may look at it one OF two ways though. :) Go Vols!

Yeah, this only applies if we are playing a good team from a good conference. I expect to dominate an inferior opponent with inferior talent. Anything less than that is unacceptable.

So, wait, you'd rather take a loss over a lucky win if we're not playing a good team?

I think our guys have been reading too much of the press HYPE......and weren't ready to play....

That Appy State team, especially the DEFENSE, played like a team with Dale Jones coaching it would play.....NEVER intimidated and took it to us for an entire game--and they truly deserved to win.

And this game is why I just want the PLAYERS and COACHES to SHUT UP AND PLAY......I'm SICK of hearing how good we should be....

GO VOLS! :salute:
