Thanks man, means a lot.

I have to get to Tennessee next year and see them live, I just have to. I think we are a team worth spending $2000 to see in person now.

So great to hear from you. Now you have a taste of what it is like to be a Vol fan. If you think you were addicted before. Lookout. LOL

StephenK24, since you started this thread, I will reiterate what I stated in another thread regarding possible options for you to take in a Tennessee game during the near future. You have a number of options, looking at our schedule for the next few years (Tennessee Volunteers Football Schedules and Future Schedules):

(1) You could catch Florida or Alabama at Neyland next year. The way we are playing right now, I would say that the chances are good we will end the losing streak with the Lizards; we will close the talent gap somewhat on Alabama with the incoming recruiting class but they should still be favored.

(2) If you wait until 2015, we will host Oklahoma, one of the great programs historically in all of college football, for the first time in a regular season game.

(3) If you wait until 2016, you could become part of college football history and attend the inaugural Battle at Bristol. We will play Virginia Tech in a game that will shatter all previous college football attendance records; it is projected that this game could draw between 140,000-160,000 fans.

I will consider all my options when the schedule is released. I am so tempted to see the game at Bristol, but honestly I want my first experience of a Vols game live to be at Neyland.

Thanks for the heads up on Oklahoma, I forget we are playing them so soon.

I will make the trip, I feel I have to now.

You are the man! In fact all you guys are the men!

The main reason for my high emotions every saturday during the fall is because of this community!

Just wait till you step into Neyland Stadium.

I promise it's the most beautiful sight your eyes will ever see.

We were scheduled to play Nebraska in a home-and-away series in 2016 and 2017, with the Cornhuskers coming to Neyland in 2017, but that series has been pushed back for a decade due to finalization of the contract for the Battle at Bristol. Your logic is sound with respect to making your first Tennessee game one scheduled at Neyland; it is one of the true cathedrals of college football. The Bristol game will be unique and historic, but it will undoubtedly have a fundamentally different atmosphere.

No need to thank me. This is the best team, with the best traditions and the best fans in college football. And this is coming from someone who could have chosen any program to support because I have no US allegiance.

It's all paying off.

Yeah. I agree. Who knows, I may do both, Neyland next year and then Bristol. :birgits_giggle:

StephenK24, I hope that you realize that this is only the beginning. Butch is making great strides with the program, both on the field and the recruiting trail. Right now, however, we are like a dormant volcano that has just begun to rumble and clear her throat. Once Butch has stockpiled 3 classes comparable to the one we are now in the process of landing for next year, you will see a team that has the talent and experience in Butch's system to compete for SEC and national titles.

I was fortunate enough to attend Tennessee, as a grad student in anthropology, during Peyton Manning's tenure. My office and virtually all of my classes were in Neyland Stadium, so I probably spent more time in that grand old cathedral than the football players. When Tennessee is fully reestablished as a national power, there simply is not a college football stadium in the country that provides a better game day experience.
