Yellow Jerseys?

I thought we were above that on this board.

I was at the game and it seemed like LF didn't have a lot of commercial breaks.
I'm assuming you thought this was a racist comment, but he was referring to the non play by play guy, hence the guy that adds "color" to the stripped down description of the individual play.

If it was sarcasm, it was hard to read.

I've seen High School games in much better quality than the LF broadcasts. They couldn't even pronounce names right. (i.e. Jerod, Jarred Mayo).
With 150 players on the rosters, they are going to miss a name every once in awhile. Also, I have to say that the LF broadcast had better replays yesterday than I have seen them have in the past. It's nowhere near network TV standards, but overall it really wasn't all that bad.

I have a Sharp Aquos and heard him say this as well. To the person that said "No matter how you watch it, orange is orange"

It looked yellow to me too.. And my tv is the top rated in its size and is calibrated for color. In my year or so of having it, I've never noticed color problems, but it certainly was "yellowish" in color yesterday.

Not that that's any excuse to call TN Yellow, but it did look that way.

I have the same TV and it still looked orange to me. May want to check that out.

After Saturday the next time I come to Knoxville I was going to buy an Orange jersey but now I have to buy a Yellow one.

Are you sure he wasn't talking about HDN's play calling?

Which was worse: Calling our uni's yellow or the 16yd fg? :)

I can excuse color blindness. Repeating an impossible distance for a FG over and over again is grounds for revoking that announcer's media credential.

On the list of crimes against broadcasting committed by the Daves, claiming a field goal was kicked from 16 yards is a mere misdemeanor.

I understand what the color commentator does and yes it was sarcasm. Sorry, thought I laid it on pretty thick. Don't call the p.c. police.

With the smilie you used, it made it much harder to tell.

i remember the first time i ever saw a tennessee game. it was in the 50s. i was 14 years old. when the team came running on the field, my question was, "why would any team wear yellow?" trust me-they were a hell of a lot closer to yellow than orange in those days. somebody explained to me that UT adopted their colors to imitate the wild daiseys that grew on the hill. of course 'orange' sounds preferable to 'yellow.'
