When Derek Dooley left Tech for the Tennessee Volunteers, he was 17-20 there, including 4-8 in his third season. Many looked at that, shrugged and said, Well, it's hard to win in Ruston.

Are we in for the same thing La Tech got in year 3.

Like under Dooley, the Bulldogs went 8-5 in Dykes' second season. But unlike Dooley's tenure, they've built upon that in Year 3.

There is a pattern here and it's not looking good. The sad part is we took a 4-8 coach to be our head coach. And we could easily be that this year.

Saban won in 2, we finished below .500 in year 2 and will barely be above that this year if at all. I know what it was like for all of the Ole Miss and State fans in my area all of those years. It really sux.

Wait, are you saying Dooley might not be all he's cracked up to be? Hmmmm...........you may be on to something. Keep up the good research and get back to us when you can!

for anyone to think Dooley is going to win here is just stupid. You blind ass Vandy trolls should be ashamed to get on here and beg and cry to give him one more season. We will slide down the SEC as long as he is here!

Next year will be worse because we're losing Hunter & CP. I don't care about Bray personally. I think Peterman will be a better QB.

Simple. Mike Hamilton failed us yet again hiring Bozo the Dooley.

Where Hamilton really failed was hiring snake Kiffin. At that time, Tennessee was a stable program having had the same coach for 17 years. The program had lost it's luster due to Phil letting it slip in later years, but it was still stable. That was the time to bring in a proven coach to get the program back to a national power. He hired Kiffin which was a risk since he was unproven in college and was fired from the NFL, even if it was by crazy Al Davis. When he jumped ship after one year, 2 weeks before national signing day, it started the roller coaster. Hamilton should have put an interim in place at that point but rushed his hire with another unproven coach.

UT did a Hail Mary Hire....painfully obvious...Dooley's departure will signify the start for UT back to relevance.
Everyone in the country is waiting to see UT replaces Dooley with? The country feels our pain and unfortunately can view the horrible play every day on ESPN......UT's replay's are on every sports channel
