Did I miss this posted already? (sorry if I did)

Seems a little odd to take his scholarship and then make him the #2 man. But, Trooper chose it so I trust him.

On govols.com

From walk-on to scholarship athlete, back to walk-on. Now he's second string. Such is the life of David Yancey.

On Thursday, Tennessee running backs coach Trooper Taylor said Yancey, a walk-on, is the second-string tailback behind starter Gerald Riggs Jr.

Here's the link if you subscribe. Yancey

This must change almost daily, because I believe I read a quote a couple of day ago, from Fulmer, who said Foster was battling Riggs for the #1 spot.

I heard an interview with Doug Matthews today on 104.5 out of Nashville, and he confirmed that A) CPF said Foster was in a battle for the #1 spot and B) That TT said Yancey was #2, but then said there had been a comment out of the coaching staff (I think he said CPF) that they may just line anderson up at this point as the #2 tailback which I thought was really odd.He seemed confused by the conflicting comments as well, so at this point the picture seems muddy at best. Would the Foster comment possibly be a means of simply trying to push Riggs harder? I just don't see how there could be any question as to who would start at TB.

Foster has fumbling the ball as of late and Trooper won't play you if you are doing that. Yancey is the only Back next to Riggs that hasn't fumbled much.

I suspect that this will change once Foster carries the ball close to his body.

I think Riggs is still in Fulmer's doghouse. (Riggs had to attend summer school to qualify for football this year and missed spring practice because of it.)

So does anyone actually think Yancey will be the first back in the game to relieve Riggs?

I'm surprised Coker's name didnt show up on the depth chart. Could be he red-shirted........I felt like he would be the heir apparent.

From what I have read, Coker is having a tough time holding the ball.
