Actually, PS3's graphics so far have failed to prove to me they are that much better than 360's.

But then, I have heard PS3's would get better.

PS3 needs to hit its performance curve... It just came out, give it time.

Everybody else here knows I place minimal importance on graphics. Some people like things that are just pretty to look at, I wholly prefer a well-executed, deep and challenging gaming experience. Something that will compell to stay around longer than 30 minutes because it's worth showing off on a plasma.

Yeah, I don't think the PS3 is clearly the winner in graphics, at all. However, I don't think that you can judge the PS3 farily right now. Resistance is about the only game worth having. It will be 6-12 months before we can see what the ps3 is really going to offer.

I was arguing with a couple of XBox fanboys elsewhere, they ripped on the PS3 because Resistance is the only good game out for it right now. I told them Halo was the only good game out for XBox for 2 years when it came out. That shut them right up.

I don't think saying Resistance is the only good game for ps3 is a cut down. It's just a fact right now. Every new system typically lacks at games at first. Look how bad the psp has been and how long it's taken just to get a few good games. :)

PlayStation 2 had a pretty slick launch lineup: SSX, Kessen, Tekken Tag Tournament, Ridge Racer V, Summoner, Unreal Tournament and Timesplitters were all very good games.

PS3 clearly the winner when it comes to graphics? I wouldn't say that. And, there's lots of computer scientists and analysts that would disgree. There plenty of people that will argue the GPU in the 360 is better than the GPU in the PS3.

I'll have to take your word for it. I think SSX and UT were big hits. I'm not a big fan of the Ridge Racer games though and I've not played the others.

At this point I can't even remeber what ps2 was competing with when it launched. I don't think I got one until it had been out for about a year.

The Timesplitters series is easily the most underrated FPS of that entire console generation. All three editions were fantastic.

My answer to every one of Milo's posts in this thread... NGB. :)

In that same thought process, the PS3 will soon have a souped up version of my favorite game, Ninja Gaiden Sigma. It should show off the abilities of the PS3 very well.

In their rumors section, EGM suggested a couple months ago that a new Timesplitters was in the works.

Personally, I've never played either or them.

They're probably dated enough at this point that it'd be hard to enjoy. But it's worth a trip back...

Well on paper the Ps3 graphics are clearly better is the reason i stated in earlier when i started this thread and for the price actually the Ps3 is a better deal once you buy all the add ons for the Xbox its rip-off in my opinion....BUT HEY IM A SONY MAN....

BRING ON KILLZONE 2 BABY DEATH TO HALO

You do have to take into mind that doesn't include the HD DVD drive which most people know. But......just what if HD-DVD wins the battle what will that do to the Blu-ray drives built into the PS3? Personally I would much rather have a 360 w/o a builtin HD/DVD drive if Blu-ray wins. But with all that being said I still believe HD and Blu will join forces one day.

The market for high def DVDs right now is so slim. I, along with many others, don't really care about picking up 2 players right now to support HD DVDs. In a year or two they'll merge or be replaced with something like hologram discs. I'll pick up a player then at those prices. Each of these could be just a stopgap for better technology right around the corner.

Still, no one can argue the XBOX 360 isn't cheaper. And both systems, outside of the formats, are fairly similar right down to the CPU and GPU.

Exactly right. Even those of us that are videophiles aren't really that worried about either HD-DVD or Bluray right now. It is very likely that Bluray will lose out, btw... see "minidisc" or more notably "betamax".

Even though I have an HDTV, I have no use for an HD disc option right now. Microsoft's strategy is more solid... not to mention the fact that the separate player is even useful in being connected to a PC with the proper software and drivers.
