Xbox Live question

I signed up and everything and was online. However I connected to the get updates part on CFB and I'm assuming there isn't anything else to download for the game as now??

Also do you have to be a silver member I think that's what it is to play people online?

I signed up just with the free membership but when I tried to play people it said my membership wouldn't let me.

Do you guys pay that membership fee?

Just trying to figure this stuff out since I'm new at it so any info will help, thanks.

I pay for a year at a time with the gold membership. You can get them on Ebay fr 35 bucks.

No, but to play online you do. You should get a 1-month free trial of gold when you sign up for silver.
