Well, it happeded to me this week. I have had my XBOX 360 for 3 months and it went kaput. The hardware failure that you read oh so much about. At first I was upset, but after some net research I began to cool down. I did not purchase the plan from gamestop (dumb) but no worries. I called the 800 number for 360 and they were awesome. Here is the deal, no warrenty was asked for just the serial number and born on date. The are sending me a box prepaid to send ups (put my 360 in) and in 14 days I have a rebuilt system with a product gaurentee. I was floored. Of coarse I will believe it when I see it but from what I have read and talked to the rep on the phone they are very much trying to be the best in the buisness. Customer service is number one and that shows. I plan on buying an extended warentee now but I am encouraged by there effort. It seems that there are some bugs with this system but they are trying to get my buisness away from Sony and this is a great start. Now as long as my "new" system works for the expected life of a system they have my vote. My suggestion for anyone purchasing or owners-BUY THE EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN.

Happened to mine, too. It randomly worked again after week. Although my XBox 360 has been collecting dust... Not really any games coming out for it that have really caught my interest.

I suppose Microsoft has finally corrected the hardware issues behind closed doors.

Early next year they'll move the processors from a 90 nm process to a 65 nm process which would lower the power requirements, as well as the heat output of the 360.
