No one is suggesting anyone be fired.

We all live the dream that the only problem was the coach and with a new coach (who just happens to be the greatest ever), dominance will commence immediately.

And when it doesn't, most fail to let go of the original hypothesis that there was nothing wrong with the roster. It's just the coach. And then they hit the panic button.

Because if the roster is part of the problem, that takes longer to fix. And people are tired of waiting, particularly if you have already gone through a couple of failed coaching hires.

A bunch of uncle Lou’s scared of Pruitt. That’s why they want Pruitt fired. Won’t happen. If I’m Georgia fans, I’d be worried about Pruitt too.🤪😂

So, six years ago Clemson had a bad showing against WVU, so we should pretend that the UT defense looked good and disregard that the offense only managed 14 points in 2018?

Why do you need to try to spin the situation OP?

Pruitt had a bad first outing. The team isnt much, it all improved over last year except that JG actually looks like a college QB. It is what it is, Pruitt's still going to get his 3 years to show what he can do at UT.

We beat Alabama 41-14 in 1995. Beat #1 AU 38-20 in 1985. We ran up the score on UGA in 1997. The rest of the schedule has been owned by us historically.

Playoff here we come I guess.

Just saying people jumping off the bandwagon for 1 bad showing is a little silly.

The bandwagon broke down, and was rolled off of a cliff a decade ago. For those of us that are still cheering for the Vols, there's no need nor want for a sugarcoating of what we saw on Saturday.

If you’re jumping off after one game then you drank too much koolaid. Some people have only been voicing their concerns from the first showing which is reasonable.

Exactly. No need so sugar coat things - Pruitt certainly didn't. We can't help but be emotional in the roller coaster of week to week wins and losses but by the end of the year and then signing day for the new class - THAT will be the first years real report card and we can judge on whether there was any real improvement or if we should stock up on mattresses. And like the godofwar said, he is going to get his 3 years to show what he can do (and he may need them all to get us back to a competitive team - IF he can).

2012 WVU beat Clemson 70-33 in a Bowl game. Clemson should have fired Dabo after that game. Clearly a horrible coach.
Is this when we also throw in Saban and Kirby first year records?

I'm all for rationalizing why we're going to be OK. But, for me, none of that matters, because for every Saban or Dabo (who may not have been as successful had Fulmer not been fired, and Kiffen chased off Taj Boyd to another shade of orange), there's many failed examples, 2 of which are recent UT coaches. To me, the best sign of Pruitt being successful is his staff, and his demeanor. Listening to him break down media questions, you can tell the dude just loves to teach and coach football, and is hard nosed, no nonsense, and certainly a good recruiter so far.

You got that right. Who in their right mind would jump on this bandwagon?? Maybe a Brown's fan?

I would be more optimistic if our previous 3 head coaches weren't also compared to Saban by some fans. I would settle for a loose comparison to Jerry Glanville

Thought about this game too...trying to condole myself. Bottom line, it's likely we will be 2-6 after USCE game. Luckily bball will be starting by then. This season is yet another journey out of the wilderness.
