you can't just pick and choose which years you want to use. they all count.

he falls somewhere in the middle of the 10-20 best drivers in NASCAR so him being just average is a fair statement.

it's make or break for him this year for sure. he had better win some races, or that tag of avg may take a down turn in some peoples eyes.

only two drivers have raced longer than Dale Jr before they won their first championship-Dale Jarrett ('99) and Bobby Allison ('83).

if it doesn't happen in the next two years, it's not going to.

right now, w/ the field that's out there, i'd say he is in the top 10. i don't believe he meant to wreck vickers, i think he was trying to get back in line and misjudged. if u watch the replays is barely a tap

J Gordon
Johnson
Stewart
Martin
Harvick
Burton
Busch Brothers
Kenseth
Edwards

right there alone are 10 drivers i'd take on my team over Junior. that took me about 45 seconds to come up with. i'm sure there is more.

point is, he's not Top 10 talent. he just isn't.

Kurt hasn't done anything in a while. Kurt at one time maybe have been a top 10 driver, he does have a championship, but he's def cooled off.

ding ding ding

while Junior was busy melting down in 04, Kurt was on his way to the championship.

face it, Junior is not Top 10 talent nor has he really ever been.

I think the addition of martin puts a lot more pressure on Jr. He coupd easily be 4th best at Hendrick this year. Or worst at Hendrick, however you wanna look at it

i have never been a huge mark martin fan, but he is one of those guys that you just cannot root against. wouldn't hurt my feelings to see him win a championship.

I cannot argue about any of those ten, and I would add Biffle, Kahne, maybe Boyer and Newman. However, for an owner, Junior's sponsorability is hard to beat. Of course a few more "Daytonas" and that could change.

If Jr. had Chad knaus he would prob win 4 or 5 races and at least end up in the top 5 in points. I think crew chiefs are so underated.

surely Hendrick wont put up with Eurys dumb decision making for the whole season if Jr does fall well behind the other 3 drivers

Crew chief underated no sir thats the driver and he has way less talent than the other 3 in the stable. One thing he does is make team money though. Question is will Rick continue to have a 4th car driven by him after kelowski comes up and takes over the 5 and is better than jr.

I think the key word in what happened at Daytona is PRESSURE. JR is under big time pressure to perform this year, and I am beginning to wonder if he will crumble under the weight of it all.

The NASCAR season is a long one. I know he was pissed off but, if he would have taken a second longer to consider his options...I don't think turning back into Vickers would have been his choice. Considering the fact that his actions took out the fastest cars on the track. And if he thinks Vickers is the only driver pissed off at him....he better be watching his 6 in California.

But, it took out Kyle Busch, so it has to be considered a great move. :)

Agreed......Its not good to piss off the drivers you'll be racing against for the next 9 months race#1. I loved the excuse he made about missing his pit. Talking about "there were to many signs that looked like his". He was having a frustrating race and he toke it out on the rest of the field. The End

JR caused that wreck. He should have admitted to it but he punked around with a BS excuse. And then everyone on the broadcast just jumps to his defense. Total BS.

Pit mistakes, just goes to show his lack of talent and his idiot crew chief.

He was on the line, deal with your mistake, stop whining about the 1 inch crap in the interview you crybaby.

I was actually shocked NASCAR didn't somehow get him on the lead lap, seems like whenever anything happens to the golden boy they seem to throw a caution for "debris" or something.

I feel better now, I was so mad watching that crap it took me a while to finally let it out.

I hope he DNF's the rest of the season, nothing more entertaining than watching all the JR homers squirm and make up excuses.
