How's that for having your emotions toyed with? I think we just had Arkansas '98 and the Miracle at South Bend rolled into one!

Anybody got any Valium? I've got no chance of sleeping tonight!!!!

Wilhoit just got what kickers never usually get - redemption . . .

You can be sure that we'll be hearing about that Personal Foul call for a long time though. I appreciated it, but it was really bad.

I just went from being at the Carrier Dome for an ugly, boring win over Cincy 19-7 in front of 30,000 disinterested fans (in the home opener, no less!) to sitting here tonight watching one of the best college football games I have ever seen!!! This game was an absolute chess match, two teams that are almost totally equal in front of the biggest crowd in UT history... such an emotional roller-coaster.... the 14-7 lead with Schaeffer looking strong... the 97 yd drive... the Smith TD... the Jackson TD for Florida... the Swain TD... the MISSED PAT... then the FG to win it in the final seconds. This game just unreal. People up here do not understand what good football is and can be. SEC Football and Neyland Stadium is where any college football fan has to be.

BTW, you cannot overlook the importance of that personal foul penalty on UF #81 to end the last Florida drive. Not only did it give UT better field position, it STOPPED THE CLOCK. That's 25 seconds right there. Both teams are young and made their mistakes, but both played with heart, and Ainge made the huge passes when it counted.

OH ROCKY TOP
YOU'LL ALWAYS BE
HOME SWEET HOME TO MEEEEEEE
GOOD OL' ROCKY TOP
WOOOO!!!!
ROCKY TOP TENN-ESS-EE!!!!!!

Like I said, Ainge has a great head on his shoulders. I've been watching him make those kinds of passes for the last two years.

Yeah it's going to be a little tough to keep Ainge off the field. You can't ask for a QB to manage a game any better than Ainge did on those last 2 drives.

How about that 4th down we got with about 5 minutes to go at midfield? The was amazing.

I look at it as things getting evened up from years ago when Florida gameplanned based on our entire playbook being faxed to them by a disgruntled ex-coach.

Ahhh, sweet revenge!

The sweetness of this victory rids me of all bitterness over the Gaffney catch/no catch several years ago.

According to GatorSports, the Gameday crew is calling for Zook to petition the call.

Can he do that?

"Petition" the call means Zook contacts the SEC office and complains. It's not like he can get the game overturned or anything . . . It's just a bad call that went against them - sort of like the Gaffney "touchdown catch". It's part of the game - nevermind the fact that it was really stupid of the Florida receiver to retaliate.

...but between you and me, I would love to hear the refs explanation.

Why DIDN'T the official flag both players? I'm THRILLED he didn't, but still curious.

The only thing I can figure out is maybe he thought the play was still going when Wade slapped the Fla receiver's helmet. Also, the retaliation was definitely a much harder shot and came after a pause. Either way, I can't believe he didn't call offsetting penalties.

I just wonder if Wade was in the heat of the moment or if he was actually baiting for a personal foul call?

According to a ZOOK quote on utsports.com...

They always call the second guy. That's part of it.

It kinda makes up for the so called touchdown catch by Jabar Gafney a few years ago too

I think Wade baited the UF player, and UF got caught at the worst possible time. Zook is a class act . Spurrier, the ole ball coach would still be wining about the call. In the end UT made the plays to win , and UF didn't stop UT when they had to.

They always call it on the second player, that is just a general rule in all sports. The players really pulled together and rallied around our freshmen QBs, especially Ainge.
