First time I've bought any CD's in about a year and a half. :eek:hmy:

Either the music is that bad out there or iPods and MP3 downloads are really killing the industry...

Even worse, I can't remember the last time I spent close to $50 on CDs or bought multiple CDs.

And I just remembered, it hasn't been a year and a half, it was a year ago, because Kingdom Come (Jay-Z) came out around November last year. But still, that is a long time. And it's probably been a good 4-5 years since I've bought more than 2 CDs at one time.

Me too! I'm 25 so I can't tell if I'm getting older and losing interest or the music just isn't the same anymore.

I still listen to stuff from the late 90's, but I listen to Audioslave and a few other newer albums.

Depending on what kind of music you like, it can be difficult to find the new stuff that floats your boat. If you like New Country or Top 40, you can find plenty of that on the radio. But if you like new rock 'n' roll or indie rock or folk/Americana, good luck. Not much of it getting airplay, which brings your options to MySpace and other places where you can preview stuff, listen for free or download stuff. Frankly, I find the atmospheres of record stores pretty hard to take. They always seem to be blaring something that makes it impossible to think about what I'm looking for.

I feel exactly the same, I'm 26. maybe we are just getting old

Us twenty something year olds are not getting old!!! speak for yourself lilboy! :p

I think its the trend now not to buy as much in music because its so easy to rip from the internet, easy to copy from your friends ipods or their cds. I have not bought a cd in a long time as well. I really don't care much for the current music anyways.

I haven't bought a CD in a while either. The rap/hip-hop industry has been especially stale lately. I can't even turn on the radio because all I hear is T-Pain's fake voice, 'ey Bay Bay, Solja Boy, etc. Repetitive, crappy music.

I still buy CD's now and then for applications like high-end home theater and car audio system. MP3's really crap up the bass, even high bitrate ones.

If it is an album I really like, I buy the CD and rip my own mp3's. That way I can control the bitrate and I have the CD for my or my wife's car.
