Curious how VN would feel about moving toward a coaching staff with deeper UT ties versus some more up and coming guys.

I imagine he would want to bring his current staff too which many would be underwhelmed with.

I wouldn't be against it, especially if he could mentor a younger position coach to eventually take the reins in a few years...possibly Tee Martin? Neither one would be likely on their own, and even less likely as a duo...but a scenario like that could provide for some good coaching now and continuity down the line.

To be fair we all say he is too old but we would be on board with Les Miles who is the same age.

But let’s be honest, Miles just doesn’t “seem” nearly as old as his age. I would say he could coach for another solid decade if he wanted.

He got fired and went back to being a coordinator. Call it whatever you feel like.

And we all know now that was huge mistake by Ole Miss, and a huge mistake by us in not hiring him instead of Dooley.

That said he would be a 'no' from me now.

he can't be in the game too much longer, i fear that would be a short term fix

And they regret it to this day. One season removed from their best stretch of winning and one removed from Eli, they made their worst move. As someone said, time was after Kiffin or Dooley. Fulmer had his best success because of Cut.

No. He was too old the last time. He is too old now. People need to stop overrating Cut. He would be a 9-3/ 8/4 coach here. He wouldn't have us competing for championships.
