Would it even be possible?

Could a school like UT ever have an agreement behind the scenes with a High School, lets use a private school like Catholic as our example, that when a player or group of players commit to Tennessee that they could move to Knoxville and attend their senior year of high school together at that school in an environment semi-controlled by the Tennessee staff. Then the school would implement the offensive scheme of Tennessee and allow the players, in this hypothetical scenario, Nico, Carnell Tate, and Kyler Kasper, along with any offensive linemen committed, to get a year jump on working together under the Tennessee system and learning the playbook. They would also begin the workout and nutrition system that Tennessee coaches would want them to follow and while I am sure the Tennessee coaches couldnt just go over there and run the show, i am sure they could have their "people" drop in every now and then. I know its a crazy idea and probably not allowed, but 5 years ago paying a recruit millions out in the open was a crazy idea. And see where we are now

I have often wondered about a system like this myself. Here lately you have kids changing high school 2 or 3 times before they graduate high school. It does make sense for a kid to transfer close to the program they are going to attend just to get use to the atmosphere and be around the team before they got there.

In world of coaches getting 3 years to imminent their system before getting fired I don’t see how this would work. It’s like the high school would have to constantly shift with UT coaching staff.

That is why the AD needs to be more business like with the program. Have a ideal of how you want your football program to be and then hire the head coach that fits the way you want it to be. Let the head coach have full control but make sure his way of coaching fits what you feel the program needs to be to succeed.

I wonder if this is not already in effect at some of these "academies" ( in Fla for sure) but not for/by one college, but by attention payed by them and TV (especially ESPN). There are some high school programs across the country getting enough exposure nation wide to fall into this same scenario.

I recently went to an event at the Alabaster high school (Thompson High School) where Taulia T. went to high school. As you all remember, they all moved from Hawaii when Tua committed to Alabama. I have no idea how connected it all is, maybe not at all, but that's one fancy high school. They have won 3 7A state titles in a row, and that was after he graduated.

Not if you find the right coach. How long has Saban been at Bama and how long was Urban Meyer at Ohio State? There are many other coaches that have been at the same program for multiple contracts.

Yes but those are a small select few coaches. I guess after someone like Saban establishes themself as the coach for the next decade then this idea makes sense. But can you even trust someone not to bolt to the NFL. Urban Meyer did 5-6 years at FL and about the same at tOSU.

In theory this sounds like a great farm system but in reality I think it would be really hard to pull off.

No. Exposing high schoolers to a college environment will just distractions from invite classroom performance/participation, encourage them to end up in more trouble than they normally do, and potentially open the school to lawsuits, when, not if, things go wrong. It's an interesting idea, but humans being humans, especially the immature pubescent genre, is a recipe for some of the worse trouble past, present and uninvented.

No. That is textbook "inducement" and is highly illegal in the state of TN.
