RB will get you on the field and then I would have to say along the D-line would be the next quickest and easiest. RB know the holes and just have to pick up on terminology while DT and DE know the gaps and need terminology down too. WR is another position that can get you immediate playing time.
QB,OL,LB,and DB must learn all of the complexities of coverages, blocking schemes, stunts,etc.;what to do if this or that happens changes thinking where RB and DL don't get into those concepts.

I'd have to disagree about the DT. There are very few 18 year olds that can hold their own at DT. Defensive end maybe.

For UT, QB's playing as Fr are as frequent as any other position. Since Shuler, Manning, Stewart, Suggs, Clausen, Ainge, and Schaeffer have all played as Fr.

I think Askew will make a big impact this year. Thinking he will be rotating in at backer and be a special teams ace.

My list in terms of easiest to contribute right away

RB
WR

DE
LB
CB
TE
OL
DT
QB

Probably a little off, but that just seems like about an average way of seeing who contributes right away.
