Hey my VOL faithful;

As I see this search unfold in front of our eyes, much like the one in 2012, and see what other schools are doing (i.e. FLA, MsSt, AzSt, etc.), how much of this "circus atmosphere" of on again off again publicity do you think would have been avoided by hiring a search firm?

Seems like a search firm would have vetted candidates without quite so much publicity.

Thoughts?

search firm should have utilized and a replacement locked in before Butch was shown the door.

Don't need a search firm to go out and hire Lane or Tee. Those are only two coaches that would have automatically said yes to UT without pause.

Why on earth would we ever pursue a coach that "has to think about it"

None. Absolutely zero because Haslam and Currie had every intention of ramrodding us with someone they had pre-selected.

what we have here is a failure of a man who waited too long to make a decision and when he did it sent shock waves across tenn now the man cant or wont make a decision on any one other than the person he wants and then they keep turning him down

And this kind of Shizz from our AD is exactly why you hire search firms....to save embarrassment. We are showing our collective azzess to the world thanks to Currie who has managed to botch every step of the football coaching process. From too late in firing Botch, to also going and chilling in the Bahamas while having a complete reject supposedly "in the bag" now it looks like we are gonna have a second coach in as many days refuse to become our head coach. LOL. Miserable

best solution I know of since no coach wants to come to ut is let coach fulmer coach for 2 years get it stabilized then a good coach would want to come here
