I'm looking at going to the Vandy game but the airline tickets from here (MLI) to K-ville (TYS) is $480 round trip. Leaving Friday afternoon and arriving about 7:00PM in Knoxville. That's the only way I can get there without missing a class. Plus there would be the ticket ($40 I think) and then there's transportation and somewhere to sleep.

So, VolNation, I know it's worth it to watch a game at Neyland, but is it worth nearly $600?

Well, we're talking about Vandy here...but to answer your question, I'd say it depends on our position at that point in the season.

Unless you have a desire to watch Vandy, I would go for another game. The majority of your investment is going to be in your transportation and lodging. I would go for a bigger game like Georgia or Arkansas ... the ticket will be more, but not compared to your other expenses really....the atmosphere would be much improved I would think.....Georgia is surely to be a special Neyland experience.

If its the only game you can make, yes. But like TennTradition said, the incremental cost of going to a bigger game won't be that much... if you can do it, go to GA or SC. If not, then Vandy is cool.

whatever guys.

I'm from Nashville...born and raised.

ANY win over Vandy is a special, special moment in my book. I hate them so much.

yeah but on the other hand vandy is pretty much a win. The other are not. It would suck to be able to pick one game to go see, spend all the money and not get a win.

as long as it isn't a blowout - the game atmosphere of Georgia would be much better IMO, win or loss
