Being a Vol fan in Alabama has been pretty bad over the last several years due to the whole Tommy Gallion thing.

How bad is it in GA? FLA? KY? etc.?

Not real bad in GA right now.

Unless we lose, then everyone reminds you. But that goes both ways. :)

I agree GA is not really that bad . . . especially now. People around here still remember the Ray Goff years for the most part.

Do people have velvet posters of him and talk about him everyday? Does every "life lesson" include a Ray Goff reference? If not, welcome to my hell.

I'm in florida, but i'm in Tallahassee which is acc country...they really couldn't care less about UT and most have selective amnesia when it comes to 98

My guess would have to be Alabama. Although, living in La. after we loss to LSU in the championship was pretty bad for a while.

I think its harder to not live in the south cause atleast in the south u get SEC football. Im up here in Indiana in Big Ten country and it gets real annoying.

NY. New York has got to be the worst place as a Vol fan. I live in New York City and a lot of folks here don't follow college football, much less understand football in the South.

I missed church after the Florida game and all I got was blank stares from folks.....

You can't even get the Big 10 here unless it's nationally televised, much less the SEC. Although usually you can get a UConn or Rutgers game.

Thank God for CBS and their SEC contract so I can watch some real football!

Texas, some of these folks say " Texas is the "real" UT". Then I remind them that the University of Tennessee was founded in 1794. That usually shuts them up. Oh, and by the way, if it werent for early Tennesseans then there would be no Tejas.

Up here in DC most folks are from other parts of the country. There is NO identity here at all. I miss the south in ways that I can't express! Any pride at all, for any team, would be a good thing.

I here you loud and clear on that one. I live in Illinois... and because Illinois sucks so much, they have to blame it on someone, so why not blame it on the ONE person that doesn't like Illinois??

The worst place to live is overseas. I lived in Germany for several years, and your at the mercy of AFN and SKY Sports for football.
It's where I developed my dislike of Notre Dame football, that's all they showed on Sky Sports.

The second worse is in Big Ten Country. I lived in PA, and all your heard was Penn State, and I've lived in Madison, WI twice, and they live and die Badgers. Thank God for ESPN gamplan.

At least now, I'm in SEC country even if it's Arkansas.

I'm a Vol fan in Kentucky, but it's not so bad. That may be because I'm only about 15 miles from the Tennessee border. I'm sure Louisville or Lexington would be pretty bad.

I grew up in Lexington, nothing is better than walking around town in all orange! Especially at Fayette Mall!

Haha... sounds like that would be a good time!

Most of it was good natured fun, when I do stuff like that here in Ohio some people get to the point of fighting.............

"You know you cant wear that stuff around here!"

It is usually the reply, "That's nice!" that gets their blood boiling....

I moved from Lexington to Gainesville.

You poor soul !

I think Gainesville is worse than Alabama. Of course Alabama and UT have more history than UT vs Florida but much older Vols & Bama fans are more civilized. A younger and brash Vol and Gator fan are more likely to get into a physical altercation !
