I sadly think this could be our worst matchup of the year.

South Carolina just looks to me to be great at all the things we struggle against.

We can’t pass protect, they are tops in the SEC in sacks.

We can’t defend the pass, they have a QB that is throwing at 72% and have a receiver that I think is better than the one that got 220 on us last week.

We are about to either play a gimpy QB or a true freshman in his first start on the road and he is probably likely to get hurt in the game if he does start.

This one will be VERY ugly. But like a true Vol I am going to be there and root on my team no matter what.

Do not get discouraged if it is bad…I am really starting to get fired up about recruiting, we are going to be back in 2012 I promise.

the part you didnt mention is this, your linebackers weigh in around 210-220, Latti weighs 220 and Maddox weighs 230, your DB's weigh 170-180, Alshon weighs 235 and Gurley weighs 230, i just dont see how you guys could even think about stopping us, everybody has been saying we have small LB's, i couldnt believe how small your LB's & DB's were, even with this being said i dont see a complete blow out, i say 31-17 cocks

IMO we just got done with the worst matchup of the year.

South Carolina is better than us across the board, but for some reason I'm thinking we can make a game out of this one IF we can slightly protect the QB. For whatever reason, SC is near the top of the SEC in sacks and near the bottom in pass defense . . . which makes no sense to me.

Our only chance is to stack the box and pressure Garcia into turn-overs. Not many QB's could handle the punishment we gave McElroy in the first half last week without coughing up the ball and it could be another 10 years before we see a WR performance like J.Jones put on us. Garcia crumbles under pressure, gotta get after him!

bama cannot attack you like we can, and we beat the crap out of them, so how are they your worst match up?

You're right. That's got to be the gameplan . . . but Jeffrey is probably better than Jones.

Not to be a negavol, but I don't think anyone has mentioned that they have most Sacks in the conference, and we have given up the most.

I don't like it, but this is a nightmare match up for UT.

You've got to be kidding. You guys are pretty good, but . . .

no im not, how many go to guys does bama have for passing......one and thats Jones and then they run run run run and that it.

against us your defensive game plan has to cover multiple threats.
1. Lattimore, will run 200 yards if you dont stack the box and will still run for 100+ if you do
2. Alshon, you cannot guard him one on one..PERIOD
3. Maddox will run over your 210lb linebackers
4. Gurley, will kill you if you double up on Alshon
5. "my sleeper" Sanders, dont forget about him, he's our Jeff Demps
6. Barnes & Moore, are very good and you gotta respect either
7. last but not least garcia, 72% completion's this year

good luck stacking the box when you gotta prepare for 6-7 threats

Since Oregon, everyone has seen how bad we are and are slobbering at the mouth to get us. Spurrier will run the score up just for kicks. It will get ugly early and often.

I don't think he will score many, if at all, "just 'cause" points out of respect for the fact that Lane "Crazy Straws" Kiffin is three time zones away.

We are in trouble no matter what. If we stack the box then our corners can't cover Jeffery or Gurley. Art Evans is awful and Gordon is just as suspect. If we don't stack the box Lattimore is going to have a field day. Lets hope the offense can pull something out of their a****.

I am really sick and tired of hearing this!!!!!!

Seriously........ how the hell do you know this??????

Ok we obviously don't know BUT you better bet that SC will be blitzing the hell out of us and they will get to whoever our QB is...that is the only reason I said it, I know he isn't more prone to injury than anyone else I just think its going to be a sackfest.:cray:

I hadn't considered any of that. You may have a point. How'd you guys do last week?

and how is this any different than game planning for any team? Any good defensive game plan will prepare for different things an opposing offense will do. If you don't you are setting yourself up for failure. Different teams have different things they are good at and not so good at. Its all about limiting your mistakes and exposing their mistakes.

That being said, I believe South Carolina will win this year; however, I don't wanna hear how good all these players on your team are. Jeffery is great, Lattimore is great. Garcia is having another good start for a season, Maddox had one good game, and Gurley is tall. I haven't heard of anyone else you mentioned. Sorry.

you went from pleasant visiting poster to complete douche in 1 page..

We get that you think you are going to win, and you probably will. However, keep in mind that you are on a Vol page and we will try and weight our chances. Oh, and say what you want but you are not better than Alabama. Just because you beat them doesn't make you better.. I guess that means Kentucky is better than you.

sanders is a freshman and is the fastest guy on our team, he will burn you if you give him one step and barnes & moore are wideouts (moore is a starter and is a new upcomer) and are above average and if you defense has all of their attention on alshon, gurley, lattimore and maddox these guys will burn you also.

I gotta address the maddox remark, maddox has played very good and is being pushed to play better by lattimore, and one the preperation by defenses, its easier to prepare for a team with 3 go to guys rather than 5 go to guys, your defense will be more spread out and playing one on one, like i said good luck playing most of our WR's one on one.
