I was having an arguement with my friend about this topic. I said Alabama in 2007 was a worse loss than the Memphis loss in 1997. Dont judge me i think the Vols will win 10 games this year. I am not a Nega-Vol. I just wanna know what the worst loss in Tennessee history is.

96 loss to Memphis was the worst based on the team we had. Of course others like the losses to Duke, Wyoming or N Texas will probably enter the discussion

Most disappointing to me was the 44-3 or whatever drubbing we took in HWalker's freshman year.

KY 2011 is about 20th on my list, if that was your question. I can think of loads worse losses in terms of how I felt afterward.

In 1980 (HW's freshmen year) we lost a thriller to UGA in Neyland 15-16. That's the year he ran over Bill Bates.

Hardly a pasting by any stretch. A good game that was close all the way. I was there and remember it well, unfortunately.

In my lifetime without question it was the 2001 SEC Championship game.

The second worst was the absolute butt-kicking we received in 1997 against Nebraska!

07 Bama??Why?? That was Fulmer's peak at poorly preparing teams to play big games...I expected to get ***** slapped every time they went on the road after the Cal debacle..

Maybeeee instead..2001 SECCG???

I remember the Nebraska game.My dad was taping it and he went to my grand dads house to watch it.As soon as he got home he slammed the front door open then pulled the tape out of the VCR and slammed in on the ground and started jumping on it Then yelled Mother fkin Sob.After that he then went and threw it outside. Then came in and Said good night and then went to bed.

Was that the 6-3 game? Or I can't remember the unstoppable David Palmer game..

That was the 6-3 game with the screwed up FG attempt at the end that got blocked and squirted backwards about 20-30 yards to setup a Bama game winning FG.
