I must admit, this was hands down the worst offensive play calling i have ever seen with the stable of WR's we have. Why is Debord anti-throw, and how are we going to recruit WR's if they are watching us play. Who would want to play for a coach that blows every chance to prove he is a big time coach that deserves to be in the SEC? Thoughts?

According to the geniuses on here, DeBord doesn't call downfield plays because Dobbs can't throw. That's weird, because he did alright last year.

Whoa now. Remember Mike Debord was the offensive mastermind behind the big bad 1997 Michigan Wolverines. And he is the only reason that Tom Brady is the QB he is today.

DeBords coaching experience pre-dates the forward pass. He's easing into this new & exciting offensive development.

That passing game most definitely is struggling, at least in terms of consistently getting the ball in the hands of our wide receivers. And it is a mystery why we aren't getting more productivity out of intermediate and deep routes, most specifically those between the hash marks and sidelines.

However, that "conservative" offense ran for 254 yards against a Florida defense that had given up an average of 53 yards rushing going into the game. Let's give credit where credit is due. Our ground game performed SUPERBLY. Throughout this streak, we have been outrushed by Florida, often to an embarrassing degree. This time, we more than doubled their rushing yardage.

No. Not even close. Butch played to win. Our offense executed and ran a 16 play like 8 minute or more drive to score a touchdown to go up by 13 with under 10 minutes to go. Ask the players in the secondary if it's any bodies fault but their own that they let the receiver get wide open, and then whose fault it was that they let 3 of them get blocked by one Florida player. Butch still got the team back down the field in a position to win the game. Yet a field goal 6 inches too far right from 55 yards away was the difference in the game.

Was there some coaching mistakes? Yes. Was it the worst coached game ever. Haha not even close. Did in-game coaching cost us the game. Not in my opinion.

Poor individual effort on 4th down (Florida was 5 for 5 including the game winning touchdown) was the difference.

That can't be true because pre-season reports indicated Dobbs had made definite improvement working with DeBoard

Missed tackles, poor execution, kicking a 50 yard field goal instead of 35 because we wasted clock=. Coaching an the list could go on

I know I'm glad he had that lsst timeout when we had a player getting off the field late. If not, we get the 10 second run off and Medley never even gets a shot. All the good it did anyway, but the point remains.

Played to win? You have got to be kidding me. If Butch had played to win, he would have went for 2. Then he wouldn't have called three straight run plays when we needed to get a couple of first downs to seal the victory. Butch coached to lose, most people know it. I guess you don't.

Running neck and neck with some of Dooley's gems. I think he may have actually topped Dooley. Does have the same exact record with better players. Also lost to Dooley.. It's settled he's Dooley 2.0..

Debord missed Brady's talent, started another qb in front of him most of his time at much.
What round did Brady go in the draft.... Ponder that!
He was underdeveloped, underutilized, and relatively unrecognized under Debord's "tutelage"

Why were 10 extra seconds run off the clock at the end?...other than the ref was a former bummer QB?

Yep, it was so poorly coached we were up 13 points in the 4th and it took 5/5 on 4th down for FL to win.

Yes, mistakes were made but to say it was the worst coached game ever is ludicrous.

It was the best and worst of both worlds. The WR pass and Jump Pass early were fantastic play calls. Dobbs had some huge plays, Hurd was running over people, so scoring 27 points on UF seemed to be enough. But you had such dumb timeouts and scared calls on defense giving UF chance after chance to find open receivers. Not sure what Butch was thinking at the end. I haven't seen a replay, but thought he played a big part in the confusion (not calling a timeout when he seemed so willing earlier to call them).

Just a poor game from the coaches. Players did all they could. Yes they missed some plays, which is inevitable, but coaches have no excuse.

well...the mighty Saban would have kicked the PAT given the same circumstances...every time....but his defense wouldn't have folded like a lawn chair either.
