Worst call I have ever seen.

The rule is taunting. For example the LSU punter last year. That was not a penalty.

The NCAA specifically listed high-stepping into the endzone as the type of action the rule is meant to cover.

How much more clear do you want them to be?

Just because it is a horrible rule doesn't mean we can ignore it.

The rule is for taunting. The LSU punter last year turned around and held the ball out. Shouldn't have been a flag. Why can't you understand such a simple concept.

Why can't you understand that the NCAA specifically listed high-stepping into the endzone as the type of activity that would end up in getting a TD called back?

NCAA bans eye black with messages, wedge blocks on kickoffs; toughens taunting penalty for 2011 - ESPN

"Beginning in 2011, live-ball penalties will be assessed from the spot of the foul and eliminate the score. Examples include players finishing touchdown runs by high-stepping into the end zone or pointing the ball toward an opponent."

It's a stupid rule, but it was called correctly and our players should be coached not to do that.

See LSU's punter against Florida last year.

LSU's punter was pointing the ball back at the defender and taunting him with it, Patterson was just high stepping, even the freakin annouincers said it was a terrible call, you're either a troll or you need to get a clue

Andre Ware is a certifiable idiot.

He was also reacting based off emotion and the way the rule should be, not the way it is.

I said in my first post I don't think the ref should have enforced it in this case.

I also think our players should be coached to not leave it up to the refs to hopefully ignore the rule.

Terrible rule that shouldn't be enforced but that call was correct.

Until the rule is taken off the books our players should know better.

The rule is specific about taunting, is it not?. There was no taunting. Bad call.

And yes we should know better.

That's because they are FORMER players and played with the taunting/showboating. The new rule, whether you agree with it or not, says high stepping into the endzone is grounds for a penalty. He did that. End of argument. This was voted on by coaches, and they now have to deal with it and make sure the players understand that.
