Now I am normally not a "negavol" at all, but looking over the schedule I think it is very possible another 2005 like season. At least we kept the games close in '05, we only lost once by more than 14, we have already done that twice. And we only allowed 1 team to score more than 28 against all year, and thats happened twice. I just wanted to see what everyone else thought on this one

I think we're worse this year. At least on 05 we had a great defense and some resemblence of talent. This team has a solid offense, terrible defense, and just as bad st.

There's only three games left on the schedule that you look at and say "yeah, we'll win that one" (Ark St, La Laf, Miss St). I think Georgia, Bama, Ark, and Kentucky will beat us. SC and Vandy I'm on the fence on, so I'll split those. That brings our record to 5-7 at the end of the year. It would be on par with 2005, but I don't know about worse--2005 was a particularly bitter pill to swallow because of our high preseason ranking.

That's not being a nega-vol, that's being realistic.

all i know is that we are bad, i mean BAD. i feel like i've been lied to. i really thought we had gotten back to TN fball with all the things i had read and heard from the coaching staff. tonites volnation Live should be very interesting, i'm going to try to listen tonite but if i cant then i'll listen to it tomorrow.

The D is a ton worse than 2005. I believe that we are a less talented team than we were in 05. Although, I believe this years team may finish with a better record...6-6 before headed to a bowl game.

I am not necessarily saying that we will have a worse record, but I think if it were possible for the '05 vols to play this years squad, the '05 team would win. And that team is looked at as being the worst we've had in a while

I don't see how you can look at Ark St or Miss St as sure wins. The only game I put in that category is LaLa. As best I can tell, we are less talented than in 2005, but end result will depend less on talent and more on character/heart. I think the 2005 team imploded. I'm not sure how this one will respond to adversity (and I don't think we've seen the worst of that yet).

I totally agree, only ULL is a gurantee. Arky State and MSU are should be's but if you overlook them then you're in some trouble, add Vandy as well

I know the Defense is not as good as 2005. And neither are are wide Recievers & O-Line.

With what we have seen so far if we win 8 or 9 games it will be a miracle.

I just dont understand why we cant run the ball. Did anybody catch the way USC was running the ball last night?

They dont do any of that misdirection option crap and just ram the ball down your throat. It reminded me alot of the good ol days here at UT

it's worse, and for one reason. in 05, we beat ourselves in just about every loss. you look back on those games, and see stupid mistakes, special teams botches, turnovers. all stuff that is correctable.

this year's team seems to be playing at potential, and it just isn't good enough.

05 was the most talented team we had since 2001, if we could of got 2006 Erik Ainge instead of 05 Ainge things would of been much different.

I just want to be able to run the damn ball

Kind of proves that a good defense can keep you in almost any game ('05)... and that playing good teams without a good defense is disasterous ('07).

Worse than 2005. We don't have the experience or talent.

How may in the draft next year?

8 or 9 games have you been watching this, we will be extremely lucky to win 4 or 5. we are not a good football team, we will lose this weekend unless our guys really get some heart over this week
