after last night Kansas City read took the title of the world's loudest Stadium... Them and Seattle have been going back and forth for some time, which leaves me the question what would it take for Tennessee to be monitored for the decimals to become louder than the NFL stadiums? We already have almost twice as many people in our stadium and this week with Florida being in town we should be able to get as loud as we were last year for Georgia if not louder... But how do we go about getting monitored to see if we can be louder than Kansas City?

You would need the majority of the West sideline to give their tickets to people who make noise.

I'd like to see this done too. I'm not sure if it was legit but someone was talking about during the Utah state game some kind of reading was showing in the stadium and it was barely cracking 100. which is loud, but not great.

There was a sound reader at the last home game, they put it on the jumbotron. Not sure if it was a real/accurate number, of if it was just a way to increase the volume.

Actually when I think about it. This could be a good idea. Announce to the fans that we are monitoring the noise and trying to see if we can get close to or break the record. I think if everyone knew this it would cause for a very loud game for Florida to have to deal with.

You would need to drop the average age of fans in.attendance by 20-30 years. Then fine anyone who doesn't yell...then take away student cell phones.

If you figure out how to drop my age by 20-30 years, I'm in. I've lost my voice more times than some on here have had birthdays. Try again.

142 decibel is crazy loud. I would bet Neyland at the UGA game last year, after the blocked punt was maybe 125 tops

Simple..tell the old farts to stop sitting...stand up and make some noise.

If you are not there to contribute to home field advantage..donate your tickets to someone who will and watch at home on your 60" superdef TV

I'm not buyin 142. Good lord it would be at the level of literally damaging your ears hardcore with very little sustainability being needed at that rating. Also, if they did get some reading saying that, it wasn't all voice. They had to filter some crap in somewhere.

As a Civil Engineer (in training lol) It has more to do with the design of the staduim. Than the number of people. It's all about holding in the noise.

Two of the best examples are Autzen Stadium where Oregons plays averages 59,000 people, and CenturyLinkField where the seahawks play holds 67,000 people. But both are consider to be two of the loudest in the country. Both are newer stadiums, or have had recent modifications.

You really expect Vol fans, the # 10 dumbest fan base (per Clay Travis) to understand what you just said?

They are seeing how loud we can get each game and keeping a record. Right now, the loudest is 101 I believe.

I, personnally, don't know what they are talking about. I have seen several sideline people measuring decibel levels at several SEC stadiums and several are louder.

I know I have seen Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and LSU register readings louder than that.
