Thanks to the Predators game, I only got to see the last quarter and a half of the Nike Hoop Summitt. Anyway, I was curious to see the mysterious Enes Kanter, the UK recruit from Turkey that managed not to get paid while playing in a professional league in Turkey. I came away thinking that the dude will be a load to handle.
He has good size, nice hands and finishes well around the basket. Kanter had about 30 or so points, most in the 3rd quarter. I know it's only an all-star game, but it appears Williams will have his hands full. On the other hand, it was noticeable how lacking on inside presence the USA team were. Jared Sullinger did a decent job on the guy when he was in the game, so maybe it's just a matter of getting some size on him.
Otherwise, I have seen Brandon Knight a few times now and I keep waiting to see what the fuss is all about. Each time I watch him I think he must be having an off day or needs to be in a regular game to show his talents. I might also be expecting too much because he's a two time player of the year, but I'm not overly awed by the guy.
Now, don't get me wrong, he's good and Kentucky will get a stud. However, he's not John Wall, who looked like a million bucks every time I saw him play last year.
So, as far as the Wildcats go, the talent will obviously be there, but I'm not quite pissing in my pants, yet.
