Wonder how good we would be with Ainge?

3-1 for sure.

I started to wonder back when it became apparent that the coaching staff would have rather had Ainge in the game with a spear through his chest than Crompton at 100%. That says a LOT.

I wish we could have him back? He's not doin' much in New York sitting behind Favre and about two other guys.

Doing nothing but drawing a paycheck. Good for him, he deserved much better than the abuse many gave him last year.

As bad as the score against UF looked, we're probably sitting at 4-0 with Ainge at qb. We had the ball inside the 5 yard line twice and gave the ball back. Thats an entirely different balgame if we score and don't screw the pooch....twice. That being said, ainge ain't walkin back in the door anytime soon. I say give the ball to G. Jones and open it up. Crompton has all the physical tools...he just doesnt have it between the ears.

Has bad as I hate to say it, Crompton would be a lot better if Coach Cut was still the OC and QB coach at UT (I didn’t always agree with Cut's playing calling and inability to adjust his game plan when things weren't working).<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Angie looked like a freshman with talent his first year when he was a co starter with a limited offense but his sophomore year as the starter with the whole offense he was horrible much like Crompton looks like right now. I think Ainge sucked up all of the coaching and discipline that Cut demanded and he benefited from it.

If Cut were our OC and with Crompton as the QB this season we beat UCLA, UAB, and are at the very least competitive against UF, and win today as Cut would have come up with enough offense to kick a FG at Auburn today, and go away with a win.

I'm not saying we have a bad QB or OC, but obviously they have a disconnect, and until they get it fixed we are going to wish we still had Cut, as our D has improved enough for us win 9 or more games this season with just an average offense with cut would at least be average or better on offense.

BTW cut is 3-1 with Duke, and his only loss was to Northwestern U that just happens to be 5-0. Maybe Cut should be our next Head Coach and QB Coach.

Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't go that far. What did we do with Ainge when he was here? We still got blown out by Florida and Bama for example last year and had stretches where we didn't score for extended periods as well. Certainly, not as bad as this year so far, but certainly not enough to win anything of significance.

And there's your answer. You saw Ainge and at least believed he had potential. And that was before Cut mind you. Crompton is a friggin RSJr and has shown me NOTHING other than he can take a hit.

I've said this before but I'll point it out again. It looked to me like as long as Ainge wasn't admitted to an ICU he wanted him in the game over Crompton. That speaks volumes to me.
