With the loss to LSU, what is our seed?

No matter who we will get, we got to take care of our own business. Last year, Wichita St and Winthrop were not supposed to be tough, weren't they?

winthrop and wichita st were not good teams on paper last year, but they presented a very tough matchup for us...yeah i agree its all about match ups

The big worry going into the Wichita State game was their center (I forget his name).. Wingate totally owned that guy for most of the game.

yeah, with us getting a 2 seed last year, we have a chance at a 5 or 6 seed....
.

With our horrible showing last year after getting a 2 seed, I think they will downgrade us this year, especially since we were one and done in the SECT.

I say that loss cost us any chance of a 4 seed. Tennessee will be lucky to end up with a 5 seed now. What does Tennessee have to do to make it to the weekend of an SEC tournament? It must not be meant to be. The officiating was terrible. Tennessee did get a break at the end of regulation, but for the majority of the game LSU was pounding TN and getting away with it.

UT will be a 5 seed. Our seeding last year means nothing this year - the committee will give that zero consideration.

Both Winthrop and Wichita St were tough matchups based on the amount of upperclassmen they had last year. We should draw a little easier road this year as UT is becoming a popular team for the media. The committee would love to have our fans, coach, and playing style on TV the second weekend.

I think UT will be a 6 seed. I am not gonna blame this LSU loss on the officials at all, that play at the end of regulation was a horrible call and should've been a 3-pt play for LSU. We can't blame the officials for this, this one goes straight to us. John Brady did exactly what he wanted to do with his comments on Wednesday, he got into the heads of our players and it clearly affected them. JuJuan Smith didn't show up at all, he played horrible. Chism played good defensively but was a non-factor offensively. Lofton was our only scorer and he can't beat a team alone with him being covered the way he was. I don't think it'd matter if John Freakin Wooden was our coach, we still couldn't win an SEC Tourney game. I don't get it. Unfortunately, if we play like that next weekend we're going to have another quick trip somewhere. Hopefully the committee will do us a favor and keep us somewhere close to home so the fans can show up. There are 1st rd games in Winston-Salem, NC (close to where we played last year Greensboro), Lexington, KY, and Columbus, OH, all within 5 hrs or Knoxville. So if we can be put in one of those three sites we can have some orange in the stands.

Should I start a "Will Mike Hamilton give Bruce Pearl a talking to?" thread?

6 seed.

I disagree. Pearl said this team would run deeper into the tournament than last years and I take his word for it.

We'll be a 4 seed. Pat me on the back when I'm right! :) . Our stat sheet has a lot of blue on it w/ OOC games against Memphis, Ohio St. and NC. Two games each vs. KY and FL will help us too.

I hate to be like this, but does it really matter? I think that Tennessee is one and done in the tournament given their road play.

Wouldn't we rather be a 6 seed than 5 seed? Don't the 12-seeds have a great history of upsetting 5 seeds in the first round?

Forget the seeding, we want a stretch of 4 games with good matchups for us - terrible guard play and no semblance of an inside game. Unfortunately for us, teams with that combo will be watching the tourney with the rest of us.
