get his shot?

I for one really like this kid, and have been an advocate of him getting some touches to see what he can do.

What do we have to lose?

Channing Fugate was a beast running back as well.

Could they really do worse? Didn't Dooley himself say today he wanted a heavy down hill running back? Both of these guys seem like good candidates.

Anyone in the know have any inside information to share about the current running back situation? Who is back number 2 with Poole out?

at this point we need someone who can break about 3 tackles before they get to the line of scrimmage

Smith is a more compact 205 than Lane, and Channing is a freaking athletic beast at 250.

After watching Tom's game film, he seems to be the kind of guy that always has enough speed to out run the defense and evade the tackle from behind.

After watching Fugate's video, I never have understood why they put him at fullback and not tailback.

Not sure about smith, but I would like to see Fugate get a few carries. I mean why not?

I want to see Fugate get some handoffs. I don't know if he has much speed, but I bet he'd bust somebody in the mouth. The line doesn't block well, so at least give the guy a shot. Can't hurt.

If any Tennessee RB goes over 100 yards rushing in the next two games, I will donate double that amount in dollars to charity as thanksgiving.

I thought Tom Smith was dealing with some knee issues after being folded in half during the Montana game? Haven't heard much since.

I can't understand why they don't have Fugate at tailback either. You look at LSU and Alabama and they have big, bruising running backs. They don't need the hole the the Oline makes for them (althought LSU and Bama Olines does create a nice hole), they just plow one themselves.
