This Johnny Majors quote gives us good insight on our football team and coaches. Fulmer has long time relied on "playmakers" to win games for him rather than have a plan on attacking the opposition.

This has now come back to bite him because he has a team that reflects his outlook on winning. At times this past Saturday it seemed like everyone was waiting on someone else to do something.

Winning football teams don't have to have "playmakers" to win games; Alabama proved that Saturday night. They simply need to have a coaching staff with a game plan and players that want to win to carry it out.

This is why Fulmer needs to be gone, he has forgotten what it is to earn a win.

an absolutely clueless dunce Fulmer is. I hate to be harsh, but really: We have the ball on the auburn side of the field the entire second half, we need one score to win the friggin' game, but Crompton can't even get a first down or two to get us in FG range! How can you not try another QB? Instead, Fulmer apparently thinks that there will be some sort of divine intervention on behalf of the Vols. Uh, no. We lose a game that is sitting there waiting to be won--just like the ucla game. And the florida game: When you come out and essentially lose the game in the first quarter with lame special teams play and turnovers in the other team's red zone--just idiotic stuff--you need a new coach. Think back to the south carolina game at Neyland a couple of years ago: The 'cocks didn't even come close to playing well and yet they beat a completely hapless Vol team. It's time for a change.

some coaches are always thinking 3 plays ahead, Fulmer instead seems to be looking for the next big play disregarding all the "fluff" plays that make a drive.

I think Fulmer is still stuck in 1998. After the NC game his brain stopped working and he just started calling the same stuff over and over. This is why every week we hear we are going to work like heck to fix it.
