USA Track & Field - Willie Gault named USATF Athlete of the Week

At the May 7, 2016 Oxy Invite in Los Angeles, Gault ran:
11.30 100m (0.0 wind)
23.24 200m (1.0 wind - legal)

Gault broke Bill Collins' old M55 records of 11.44 and 23.36, respectively.

On the age-graded chart (which is a guage and not entirely precise), Gault's time's would be roughly equivalent to 9.84 and 20.06.

Go Willie! GBO.

One of my favorites. I was there with my Dad when he had the lone score against Pitt in 1980 with a 100 yard kickoff return for a td.

Watching Willie Gault play was one of the things which really turned me on to UT football. I was a student at the time and jogged Tom Black Track. When WG came down to run, he blew around the track with such ease and speed that he looked super human.

I was there too as a high schooler. Don't remember that. :ermm: That's terrible.

Vividly remember that Pitt QB looking like a man among boys tho.

We were sitting in the newly enclosed North end zone section and I vividly remember watching him catch the ball in the end zone and take off.

Anybody else remember: Gault, Bo Jackson & Herschel Walker all on Tom Black Track at the same track meet?
