Derrick Williams of Greenbelt,Md. said his visit with Tennessee this past weekend was very impressive. He said the 600 yards of offense was definetly something that left an impression on him. He said he also enjoyed the loyal Tennessee fans telling him how much we would like to have him when he participated in the vol walk. Williams is a 5 star recruit and ranked as the #1 prospect in the nation. He will graduate in a few weeks and plans to enroll in school in January. Williams could push our already outstanding recruiting class over the top. He received an in-home visit from Bobby Bowden earlier this week and will have two more by weeks end. One of these visits will be from Coach Philip Fulmer on Sunday. This is another great example of Fulmer's dedication to his program, scheduling a visit the day after the SECCG.

No kidding. Fulmer is a very good recruiter. If some folks had any idea the number of hours this man puts into this program.

Be a very nice pick-up, especially after the news about Turner not wanting to come here.

Williams said on CTSD that he loves our coaching staff

Right now Im pretty sure his top 3 is 1)OU 2)Tenn 3)Fla St.

Crap crap crap!! He was on CTSD( Countdown to signing day) and he was talking about Oklahoma and how his mom was from there and how he has a lot of family there. He also said it would be nice to have family right there with him in Ok...

He said that his dad and Bobby Bowden shared some great laughs while he was there.

He also said his visit to Tennessee was great and he could not find words to describe it!! :rocks: :rocks: Great job everyone that helped with his visit to UT!!

I hope Coach Fulmer gets him to committ to UT after his in home visit!!

His decision is soon he graduates later this month!!

So my guess is that he's good at everything

6 foot 189, he's either a defensive back or wide receiver.

Surprised OSU isnt in the running then if he's his friend, players like to go play with friends and former teammates.

I wouldnt be suprised seein this kid play cornerback in a couple of years

With the way teams are playing freshmen along with this guy's ability, I wouldn't be surprised to see him play WR and some special teams next year even.

With the athleticism that Derrick Williams has, there will be a need to get the ball in the guys hands and it wouldn't shock me to see him be a contributing factor to any team as a true freshmen.

im out of the loop....whats his postion and hs stats?

On CTSD he said he ran a 4.4 in 8th grade at Penn State's camp and Joe Pa offered him then! But he is his team's starting QB this year and said he will be playing WR in college.
