William Mohan, 20, was arrested for domestic aggravated assault

I'd like to see some documentation, even Michigan fan forum rumor, that this is a repeat offense. It's pretty easy to do a "drive by" trashing of a guy who transferred.

If this is true, my concern is less about Mohan and more like your concern whether UT did "due diligence" in pulling this guy from the portal.

If someone uses a Michigan fan forum, perhaps they can search Mohan's name and find something but I'm not inclined to believe a "one timer" showing up here to kick a kid when he's down without any evidence.
BJM was his position coach at Michigan…I call bunk.

Agree. I have been on the side of fleshing out the facts BEFORE making any determinations. A history though would definitely weigh strongly against him IMO.

IMHO, your better players in the portal will often be guys looking for a 2nd chance after having something like this. McCoy was accused of something similar. Other schools have given guys a 2nd chance. You have to put in safeguards but I suspect these kinds of tranfers will continue to be pretty common.

As a Michigan fan, major contributor(for now), and parent, I've been watching this thread, reading up on which way the comments have sided.
As expected, some have zero tolerance, some are saying wait for the facts, and some are picking apart the young ladies actions as if it justifies his.

My interest in this is because of the transfer portal, where young men can switch teams and get a fresh start. It's easy to see a guy like this through fresh eyes.

I do not though. I understand that this is not the first situation like this. Not the first time he is being accused of being abusive. Not the first time roommates had to step in. Not the first time the details indicate choking. Not the first time he went through a "trial" for an incident like this, although it is the first time where the circumstances led to definitive charges.

This is a repeat offense to some of us here at Michigan, and may have (not certain) been part reason why he left in the first place.

Depending on how this shakes out, I only hope he gets the help he needs, and not the opportunity to use the portal again to get a clean slate.

Good luck to you all this season.
Apparently going to need a reference. Do you have a link to a board where this was discussed or to those "rumors"?

If a previous issue was known to staff then it should've been cut and dried and a quick "clean out your locker and get out" statement from UT.

It's the end of camp, before the season, and if your "second chance" leash can't even get you to the first game....... get out. If it's a pattern, we've no need to be nice about getting rid of a distraction.

"We gave a young man who had some issues at Michigan a second chance and unfortunately he was not able to turn his behavior around. We are dedicated to the highest standards of behavior at UT and we had informed William of this when he was signed......." yada yada...... and he's gone.
