Question for the nega's/fire Dooley crowd.

When we are smacking the SEC in the mouth this year.. winning game after game as we climb back to the top.

Will you be able to enjoy it and admit you were wrong? Or will you still be posting negative statements and trolling your fellow fans?

I know if it doesn't happen and we have another horrible season, I will be able to admit I was wrong. Apologize for defending CDD these past couple years.

I just know that this is the year, and I just wonder if when Dooley proves he deserves to be where he is at, if any of you will have the balls to eat your crow and post an apology for jumping the gun.

When we destroy Florida, what will the feeling in your gut be? will it be pure elation and joy? or will it just make you even more bitter when you realize Dooley will be here for awhile?

He had a losing record at LA Tech and has a losing record here. Until he proves otherwise, he's a LOSER. Plain and simple.

dude, the knife cuts both ways.

if florida comes to neyland with "who dat" playing qb and beats tennessee on the road in neyland depsite tyler bray and the three musketeers at wr

and

tennesssee goes on to lose 4 other ball games throughout the course of the season

and

there are moments of ineptitude combined with stupid stuff like shower discipline, bamboo, orange dogs, and opportunityisnowhere

are you going to say "we beat florida next year, book it." or are you going to demand that hart find a new head coach?

Will you admit Muschamp is on bath salts when we win and demand he is fired?

I am not a Dooley fan, but my expectation is 8 to 10 wins this year. If he wins 10+, I will admit that he has earned the chance to be our head coach in 2013. If he wins 8-9, it will depend on who the losses were, and how bad they were, as to whether or not I will think a 4th year will be justified.

To me, the most logical perspective is right smack dab in the middle.. I know - just call me Switzerland..

The pumpers and negas are both too extreme I think...

As Yankee Vol said, CDD has a career losing record, which simply can't be overlooked. But he also took La Tech to a bowl WIN and an 8-win season - their first bowl victory in a long time IIRC. He's had some good moments at UT and some not-so-good moments.

All of the issues he inherited, as well as the bad luck (the lack of talent/depth/experience, injuries to TB and JH, losing JJ before the season, etc.) have been discussed ad nauseum...

There are 2 sides to the coin..

The positives - solid recruiting, fewer off-the-field incidents, stability, VFL program

The negatives - questionable game-day coaching, embarrassing losses, and some would say lackluster recruiting compared to the rest of the SEC.

Ultimately, this season is put-up or shut-up time, and I'm reserving judgment until December. I think everybody will have a good idea as to whether or not he's a good coach.

my 2 cents

let me also say something here to stir up conversation among the posivols.

i have seen only a few posters write that tennessee will have a good football team.

among even the folks who believe tennessee will win 9 or 10 games, the posts go something like this.

we have a good qb and the best wr corps in the country. we will have an offense that will be able to put up points and florida, georgia, south carolina, missouri, etc, etc, etc, really aren't that good or flat out suck.

there is a difference between winning because everyone else isn't any good (which is what most posters here believe georgia and south carolina did in 2011) and winning because you are a good football team.

so, if tennessee wins games in 2012 because everyone else indeed isn't that good or does suck, how enthusiastic are you going to be about tennessee's future with derek dooley?

It's funny that I know exactly what to expect when I see a thread started by certain posters

The numbers aren't magic, or hard to figure out. We will know if UT is fielding an improved team. Pretty sure we won't be playing 8 dud SEC teams btw.

This season will do a lot to shore up the fan base either way.

...oh, and the gators suck and have a coach who is a borderline bipolar maniac.
