Will We Win 20 Games This Year?

Here we sit at 16-9 with 5 regular season games to go.

3 tough road games at UK, Fla, & USCjr

Bammers & a pretty good Miss St team at home.


Bama seems like the only lock to win right now, although I think we are capable of winning every single one.

So just curious, do we win 20 this year?

Depends on Saturday.... If we beat the Blue then YES.... if not. Not too sure.

I don't think we win in rupp this weekend. So winning 20 is going too be tough to do in the regular season. I see kentucky out hustling us and of course meeks. Without good defense and rebounding this team is very average. Mississippii showed us that last night.

I think we will win 20, but will need to probably pick up a couple of post season wins to do so.

I don't see how we can in the regular season.

We're likely going to get destroyed Saturday at Rupp. Kentucky has had our number anyway, plus we have just lost road games at Auburn and at Ole Miss. You'd have to be a pretty blind optimist to think there's going to be some kind of miraculous turnaround by Saturday.

On that same thought, winning at UF and SC both seem like pipe dreams as well because again, they are both much better than Auburn and Ole Miss. I just don't see how we suddenly turn it on.

That leaves Miss. St. and Alabama. Miss. St. definitely can beat us at home and they'll be in survival mode since they'll be fighting for an NCAA bid. Alabama is the only thing close to a shoe in win, but guess what, they too in the recent past have had our number and by then this team could be so down we might lay an egg in that one.

All this talk about how we're definitely in the NCAAT is kind of strange to me. I don't care about RPIs and SOS, we have a very good shot at going 4-6 in our final 10 games with ZERO quality wins. Marquette now is about are only really good win, as Georgetown is a bubble team at best. And even in our good years we barely show up at the SECT, so it's more bilnd faith that we suddenly have a great SEC Tournament.

I think we'll win the two home games plus one road game. Florida plays worse defense than us, and Bruce is 6-1 against them. If we don't beat them, then maybe we'll beat SC. Either way, I think we'll be at 19 going into SECT. We'll win one in the SECT before getting bounced. Then we'll last all of two hours in the NCAAs.

Unfortunately, that's how I see it, and even that sounds optimistic right now.
I'm tired of this team getting my hopes up and then turning in a junk effort.
Had last night been a great game involving two teams playing their guts out, and we'd lost, I wouldn't be so angry and frustrated about it. The non-contender wanted it more, and that's sad.

I agree, this team has all the makings of being one and done in the ncaa's. As far as the sec tourney goes, history isn't on our side. We'll be lucky to win one game in the sec tourney.

Cant argue that assumption. But for some strange reason I believe that UT will win at Rupp. I think 3 more wins is believeable/reasonable. And possible a win in SEC tourney too.
