Will we see our playmakers now?

On the LockerRoom show last night Mark Packer kept saying "Their playmakers were on the field and ours were on the sideline"

So...are we going to see them now?

Is it time to say "the heck with it if they don't know the entire scheme" and just throw them to the wolves?

Obviously this nickel and dime passing game we've been using this year is not going to get it done against anyone decent

Will the coaches going to put the 4.3 40's out there or are they going to stick with the same old crap?

Wow...I just started a thread just like this.

It's funny to me that as obvious as it is to everybody else....UT fans, TV announcers, etc., for some reason the 4.3 40's are still on the sideline 3 games into the season :dunno: :no: :realmad:

well, there's an article on govolsxtra.com that acutally makes reference to this, i think it's a john adams piece.

the basic gist of it was......UM goes in to looking at the freshman as players. he's not looking for those that can play, he's looking for those that can't.

whereas we go in to it the exact opposite. hence the reason you have so many FR and SO players making contributions on FL's team.

it also is a pointed statement at the player development differences in the two.

and the other part of it is that FL has basicaly out recruited everyone, save USC, in the country and has a plethora of talent to choose from.

the quote that got me was..."for every Eric Berry and Jerod Mayo TN has, FL has 20 guys just like them".

there's some truth to that, but if guys like O'Neil, Vinson, and all the other young people we got out of this class are that caliber athelete, seeing what FL has been able to do with their young people vs what we do with them.....the question has to be asked.

and that's not to say that we need to be starting FR or SO every year....not the case. but in this day and age, the "you stay, you play" mentality is just another indication of "we do what we do", and it's not going to change anytime soon.

Fulmer has always done this.Look he is obviously a very stubborn old fart. I can here him now"we have won in the past doing this and we will continue to do so". Yeah that's all fine and dandy until your cleaning out your desk.

I firmly believe this point...watching the game we just looked about two steps slower than everyone they put on the field. It didn't matter which side of the ball or special teams that you were watching.

Florida is just on another level than us right now. I hate to say it but I think we are seeing the start of a USC type of dynasty in the SEC.

With UF's scheme and the boatloads of talent that they keep bringing in every year....I don't see anyone keeping pace with them...not even LSU.

And I firmly believe that if something doesn't drasically change with our program then we are in for what happened Saturday everytime we take the field against UF.

It's hard to make a circle with only one wagon...and we've only got a wagonfull of playmakers taking the field right now.

Why do we always have to wait until after we lose to florida to get the new guys on the field even though they are better athletes?

We might see a couple of new guys on the field, but nothing substantial. For them to play a lot of the younger guys would be an admission that they were wrong.

And admitting mistakes and failures isn't something this staff is good at.
