I would never have bought that stock, even at pennies on the dollar. But with all this way to early hype coming out of the entertainment sports network it makes you wonder. If Dobbs has a strong spring game we might just sneak in.

Yes. Yes we will. We'll be ranked between 18 and 23 (barring big surprises in spring or fall camp) ...

... Oklahoma will be just outside the Top 25, but getting votes, which means by the time we meet them they could be just in the Top 25 (even though the only game they have to make any impression is the Akron Zips) ...

... and future opponents Georgia, Arkansas, Alabama, and Missouri will all be ranked as well.

At the start of the season.

I ran into a Negavol in McCaysville Georgia while getting a haircut. I told him that Tennessee would fight it out with UGAG for the SEC East this season and he told me "no way Tennessee is too young". I then preceded to tell him that Tennessee had the #4 recruiting class and that they would win the SEC East in 2016. Tennessee skeptics are spread around far and wide. I think Tennessee could be ranked 20-25 but wouldn't be shocked if they were unranked going into the 2015 season.

Two things.

First. Much better thread than the one I gave you a hard time in yesterday. You were a good sport about it. :good!:

Second. IMO we could be anywhere between 20 and 30 depending on spring practice results. While it could happen, I would be just as surprised if we broke into the Top 20 as I would if we were outside the Top 30.

OU will be ranked to start the year based on their name alone. How long it will last who knows

"Negavols" just play a psych game with themselves so they won't be disappointed if something goes wrong. I notice if we get a big win a lot of those same people will say we are going to win all the rest! They go to the extreme both ways.

Well, to be fair, if negavols set their expectations high they get chastised for setting up the coaches for failure.

Vols will probably be unranked, but UF and UNC will, as always, start the season ranked.

Notre Dame and USC will also be top 10.

Vols should be right outside the top 25. A solid win over Bowling Green could sneak us in the top 25 when we play Oklahoma, but even then I think we need a win over Oklahoma to really be deserving of a top 25 ranking.

I would imagine we see a first game rank of about 27th....just outside the top 25....Hey, they're gonna make us earn our way in....and that's prob the way it outta be....but I think if we win a couple or three early we'll shoot up, especially with a Oklahoma win and an SEC win...

Why wouldn't we be in the top 25 to start the season?

We were almost a top 25 team at the season's end last year. Haters may disagree as we didn't get points in the human polls, but Sagarin had us ranked 21/25 in his predictor ratings College Football Ratings Page. Add the fact that we lose almost no one from our bowl team and yes, we are top 25.

I hope not. I prefer the underdog role and something to prove mindset. I do not mean it negative, but there is a lot left to prove before we are deserving of a top 25 ranking.

Not necessarily. We're just as big of a program as any other in the country and they haven't been exactly kind to us lately.

UT has seemingly always been seen with little bias for ever. Even when Neyland only allowed 2 opponents to score on him in 1938 we still got shafted to TCU
