I have been worried about this from day one. Kiffin is putting together an awesome staff. But, can all these high profile coaches keep from getting into a pissing match? I sure hope so. The coaches have to have chemistry. Without it, the TEAM will not have chemistry.

If, Kiffin did offer Garner the DL position. How do you think O felt about it? Maybe he was willing to do something new. But, I doubt it.

By the way, Garner isn't a big loss. The defense was ranked number 22 in the country this year, and 6th in the conference behind UT/AL tied for 3rd, UF 8th, USC 14th, and Mississippi 19th. Considering their offense was better than everyones except UF. I don't think their defense did that well. Besides, we put up 50 points on them two years ago.

This staff is all business. There will be no staff problems like there was when Fulmer was here. Most of those were jealousy issues anyways.

I am not saying Garner's recruiting abilities aren't a loss. They are. But, don't we want recruiters who can develop talent? That has been our problem for years, developing talent. I don't think Garner can develop talent on the DL like Coach O.

I wish they would have gotten Troop back for receivers, that is a much bigger loss to me.....than some unethical recruiter, using us to make more money, what a con-artist......

One of the biggest problems over the past few years has been getting the talent here to develop. We haven't exactly had stocked cupboards to work with.

There's no way Lane would offer him Orgeron's DL without Orgeron agreeing. Shows me right off the bat that Coach O is serious about winning, and doing whatever it takes.

I think the staff will be fine, the players are the question. I don't know how the guys that are here will react to all of this especially when they have to go to work in the spring.

I think that O would still be involved in some way, just not sure how.

I think they will do fine. These guys are all professionals and have coached before. I should be all about winning!

After having last season off, they should be pretty rested on offense. It will probably be harder than when Cut was here.

Sounds like the "chemistry" issue is that Garner is intimidated by Coach O.

There is a great concept called "creative tension" where alot of smart people get together and disagree before comming up with a plan, which is usually the most well thought out. Hopefully that is the scenario Kiffin is building rather than bad chemistry.
BTW, Willie Martinez is the DC at Georgia, it's his defense. If you go to the Dawgs message boards they all bitch about Martinez and blame him for Georgia's defensive woes, not Garner. None of them want to lose Rodney.
I do however think we can get someone equal to Garner before everything is said and done.

I disagree on Garner. I would interview any school out there. If, it gave me an opportunity to look at what other opportunities there are. And, it would increase my pay for my family. I don't blame Garner. Besides, he said he thought there would be a team chemistry problem. If, coach O didn't coach the DL.

I do agree on Taylor. Kiffin better bring in a good WR coach and recruiter! Below is the awesome results of Troopers last class at UT!

Six players signed. Here's a breakdown.

Eric Berry was destined to play for us, Trooper or no Trooper. So that's leaves 5. Melancon never made it, so that leaves 4. Ahmad Paige hasn't seen the field yet and is an internet legend at this point, that leaves 3. Moore had 11 catches on an anemic offense this year and 14 the year before, not exactly awesomeness. Down to 2. Lennon Creer hasn't established himself yet, so that's down to 1. McKenzie was overall a decent player and did some things well. So I will give you him.

So out of those players, he signed 1 that has been a decent player. Remember, Fulmer closed the deal with Berry and so did Eric's dad.

I believe Creer and Paige will eventually be solid players for us. Maybe even Moore

O has been straight up. He wants to work with MK and position himself to be a head coach again. I don't think he is married to the idea of the D-line.

I don't care what kind of pedigree these coaches have, only time will tell if a team chemistry problem happens.

there could easily wind up being a coaching chemistry problem.

Kiffin has a new boat, where as Fulmer's sank. Kiffin is forming a USC type staff, no problems out there. We will be fine. In fact, I would say that Kiffin is going to be a lot like Carroll with this team.
