Will there be a coaching change if we go 4-6 or worse?

In the world of "hypothetical conversations not to have until they're no longer hypothetical," the "if our coach does XX bad, should he be fired?" conversation is near the top.

Absolutely no good comes of this hypothetical. Table it. Only bring it up again if we go 4-6.

I think if we go 2-8, Fulmer's hand will be forced. At 4-6, Pruitt is safe but on super hot seat for 21.

3-7 would be interesting. He's likely safe but if team continues to quit, then Fulmer may pull plug to save his own rear.

Covid19 is the one thing we can’t really compare. I don’t think Fulmer wants to be fired twice from the university so maybe he’ll pull the plug without the extra year of failure like we gave him, Dooley and Jones. Honestly if we’re going to do the same ‘ol DC or OC hire then I see no benefit. The only coach we’ve hired that showed any ability to be a head coach was CLK and we were just 10 years to soon on that hire.

No. That won't happen. But another extension won't either. The pressure would be on to "surprise" people in year 4.

The last thing we need to do right now is start another coaching search circus. Pruitt knows football he just needs to shake the JG stink off of him.

I'd argue the last thing we need is to keep a coach that might not be cut out for the job. I think a serious discussion should be had at 2-8 or 3-7.

Just because you "know football" doesnt mean you know how to be head coach of a SEC team. Those are 2 different things

No it’s not happening. If we fire our coach after 3 years not only will be lose our top 5 recruiting class but then we will have a hard time finding a replacement that will take the job knowing it could end after 3 years. Dabo took 8 years to turn Clemson around and Saban was an average Big10 coach before coming to LSU and then failing miserably in the NFL before being the coach he is today at Alabama. I’m not saying Pruitt will turn into either one but we do not know only after 3 years. Now does he need to improve and show player advancement, absolutely. But I do not believe it will be a good idea to fire him after this year considering it’s the year of the Covid and all players can return next year if they chose to for an extra year. I am just as pissed as everyone else in how we have played last 2 weeks and after I calm down and think about it and realize we are not going 0-10 in the sec and that Butch last almost 5 years and if that clown can get 5 years almost then we need to trust in Pruitt that he is gonna make the right changes as they are needed.

Prolly more like 3-7 if actually honest. If we play like we done the last 2 weeks we may not win another game. Some thing for sure needs to happen just not sure firing the HC is the solution right now.

And if JP thinks PF won’t do it, he’s really in way over his head! HeavyP won’t blink to do it to a Bammer he gave a shot to and we already know King Johnny’s side of that story!

No, because of COVID, and the tens of millions of dollars athletic departments are going to come up short anyway, I don't think you're going to see a whole lot of P5 firings this year, especially in those situations with an 8 figure buyout. It just ain't happening.

COVID is here for the foreseeable future. They may have a vaccine soon, but this may stay like this for more than one season. A lot of these schools will struggle to continue with football if they can't get people back in the stands.
