Will the Lady Vols be Improved next Season?

Coach Kellie says were not through so let us see who else were adding to the roster.
I'm a worrier, but I'm getting worried the portal prospects are going to determine when we're through.

Did I miss a visit, or is Chuliboly still the only visit we've had since Wells? Really need some meaningful visitors next week.

Besides the addition of another strong player, if Coach Harper would put more motion in her mostly lack of motion offense, that would go a long ways to the LVs becoming a strong SEC/national contender again....

Right now I would rate our roster about fifth in the SEC. Were far weaker rebounding team just because we lost Franklin and Horston. You have to be an elite rebounding team in the SEC. Coach Kellie says were not through so let us see who else were adding to the roster.
We are about 5th or 6th right.now, but I think our number one priority is getting a scoring guard, we had too many scoring droughts last year and that’s what really cost us games.

Would love to see your order as far as rankings! Because many said the same things last year and we landed Rickea,, Franklin, and Jillian shortly after. Again it's still April, a lot of things can happen between now and November.

I have my players I think we should target, and we need to get at least 2 of them in my opinion, and that’s Padilla, Donarski, Coulibaly, and Morrow. I know the chances are very slim but that’s what we need.

And if those Ladies wanted to be here, they would. Couilably has visited,. We could've reached out to the others and invited them on a visit and they could have said "No Thank You" but by your logic we should just force them to be Lady Vols and if not, our coaches aren't recruiting.

Coulibaly hasn’t made a decision yet so let see, I have no idea if we reached out to the others including Jefferson the chose Louisville. I know they better have reached out to at least find out if they have interest or not, because those players are what we need. I know everyone doesn’t agree with me and that’s ok, but I think I’m a good evaluator of talent but we all can be wrong.

Again unless you are one of those players or are representing one of those players, you wont know if we reached out or not. And if you were a good evaluator of talent you would also understand that talent in one program, just might not be the same talent in another program. We all can make suggestions of what we feel they need, doesn't mean those pieces would fit with what we want to do.

At Tennessee it isn't just about basketball and I think some of you forget that. You actually have to attend class at Tennessee. Here it is Student 1st, athlete second. Not many other programs operate like that and some coaches could care less if these young ladies leave their university with a degree. I'm glad our coach still does.

If we reach out or not is not my problem, I’m giving who I think we should target, because that’s what we do in a forum like this. I’ll let the school figure out if they go to class or not.

They don't attend classes at other schools? And you know this how?

Batman & Robin supported by a strong supporting cast can carry a team to the finish line. Rickea Jackson & Destinee Wells will be the Lady Vols Batman & Robin. It gets down to coaching. A team of allstars often disappoints. Smaller roster can be beneficial. Aicha Coulibaly would be a nice addition for she rebounds very well.

i think many people here have grand illusions..... is wells really that great? will Key come back and be a dominant center in WCBB

bottom line i expect about the same result next year as this year.

With the news that Jewel is a LV and Key has been back at practice, I feel that this is the most complete team we have had under KJH. This will especially be true on offense: Imagine teams having to prepare for a possible starting 5 of Jewel, Wells, Key, Rickea, and Jill. All 5 players are capable of scoring in double digits in most games. Both guards can shoot the lights out from the three-point line. Wells can drive and penetrate to score or assist. Defense may not be elite, but if Key can be in decent form by the SEC season this will help immensely. I don't necessarily think this will be a Final 4 team, but I do think it could be a super early pick as a possible Elite 8 team and if they made it that far you are in possible reach of the Final 4. I lot of people have portrayed the Lady Vols as being shallow in talent beyond the top 2 or 3: However, if you look at the current roster for next year the data suggests differently:
Rickea - First team all SEC
Key - Projected first or second team SEC. Contention for defensive POY in SEC.
Jill - Top 30 high school player who shows all the signs of eventually being an all-SEC type of player.
Jewel - First team All ACC and top scorer in ACC as a true Sophomore.
Wells - Consistent all conference and conference tourney first teams every year and one of the highest offensive
efficiency ratings in the country.
Powell - 2nd team All Big Ten team as a sophomore.
Puckett - All Freshman team.
Tess- Second highest three point shooter percentage and 3-point shots made in the SEC if memory serves me.
I realize the latter Puckett and Powell were subpar last year but they have been recognized for their talent and achievements and there is no reason to think they can't excel again!

Talk dirty to me, LV…
Anybody seen The Dark One? 😂

Let's play!
Wells/Powell - splitting time at first, mins tilting toward Wells later in season
Spear/Darby - best 3 pt shooting guards in the SEC
Jackson/Puckett/Darby
Jill/Karo/Puckett
Key/Karo/Jill - would def take a youngun to watch, learn, and spot play at post.
(If Key can't play, as I'm starting to fear, Jill and Karo both start)
Wynn - possible spot duty as defensive specialist
Edie/Strickland - great teammates and trusty scout squad players

That's a solid squad, especially offensively. Now the ball is back in KJH court, literally, to make it all work. Got a mulligan last year, hopefully has learned and will do that much better this time. Bet a mil the preseason sched is easier.

Extra practice and Europe trip is a real advantage. Harder SEC sched and much better SEC overall are challenges.

I have been away from the board,. Has there been some negative news on Tamari?
