Will Obama speak out about this ad?

Obama doesn't have the intellectual honesty to remember what he said about families being off limits.

I'm sorry, I watched the ad and it was about John McCain not Cindy. When Obama's wife was attacked it was soley about Michelle Obama, there's a big difference. If he said that family members can't be seen in the ad than I am wrong and apoligize but the ad didn't say one bad thing about Cindy McCain or any other family member.

It said it was low class to put family members in an ad (referring to an ad that showed Michelle making her "proud" comments). He said he would not do it and would speak out against it.

In that case, I am wrong and he should speak out on it. I thought he was referring to going after the family member.

Michelle Obama's comments made her fair game on that issue. If she wants to be off limits she shouldn't make such ridiculous comments.

The Tennessee GOP ran an ad with Michelle in it that he condemned. She was a larger focus of the ad than Cindy was but Obama indicated that it is unacceptable to use his wife in a campaign video.

Then I guess you feel Cindy McCain's comments likewise made her fair game.

I wish both candidates would give us the high-minded campaign they both promised. It's getting ugly and petty quickly.

Anyone who steps up to the microphone and makes a statement makes themselves fair game. A spouse's background should be fair game anyway. If the candidate cannot keep his or her spouse to a reasonable level of behavior, then they are not worthy of leadership.

It is wrong to attack any of the family just for the sake of a sound bite. That said, the fact that Michelle Obama, in her own words had not been proud of her country until her husband had a shot at the presidency is certainly fair fodder. I don't know what comment Cindy McCain made, but if was anything close to as stupid as Obama's, she deserves it too.
