Will Hamilton try to go cheap?

Exactly . . . It's just as important to have smart people hiring the coach as it is to have a big checkbook.
I'll take a shrewd AD over a fat checkbook every time when it comes to hiring a coach.

Yeah but Les Miles was just a caretaker for a talent rich team Saban left Bayou Bengals loaded. Fulmer is leaving the new regime with Eric Berry and thats it. Haslam is going to have to write some large checks on this one, or firing Philip is all for not

The Rod Wilkes is still around :).

I agree with you on the Myles winning with Saban's players though

LSU went semi-cheap and it worked fine.

Hell I could win a championship if I had the recurits from Nick Saban. Les Miles true colors will be showing over the next 2 years. Lets see how well he does using his own recruits

With how far down our program is, and how fed-up the fan base is with efforts like this past Saturday, he just about HAS to hire a big name....or he risks lots of people not showing up to the games again, cause they are not excited about the new coach. I trust that we will all be pleased with his decision.

Mike Hamilton has done nothing as AD so far that makes me worry one bit about his ability to hire a quality football coch.

exactly. Obviously the Bruce Pearl hire has worked incredibly well, but so has Hamilton's fund raising abilities. And while you don't care about the sport, Raleigh appears to be a solid hire. This season will probably be a true test to that though.

ok hat another question. If Hamilton makes what appears to be a good hire on paper, yet it fails, does he deserve a chance to try again? I believe with everything else he has gotten right as AD, he definitely does.

Unless Hamilton hires Chris Peterson or Will Muschamp, which I think should result in immediate termination, I see no reason to terminate him if the new coach fails.
