I just have this feeling deep down that the Fulmer/Hamilton dynamic duo will get together at a secret meeting place (Shoney's) and devise a plan to get rid of Clawson to save Ful's skin a la Randy Sanders. Now I read the article about Boyd committing and his comments that Fulmer AND Hamilton told him Fulmer isn't going anywhere... just adds to my belief/worst nightmare that Fulmer is above any firing...he must have some incriminating pictures or something.

Will we ever get rid of this guy or will he keep firing everyone around him? If that's what ends up happening, doesn't that say something about Fulmer?

I think that this is more likely to happen. I just don't see the Vols firing Fulmer and definitely don't see him resigning. I would like to see the Vols go after Tulsa offensive coordinator Gus Malzan to replace Clawson. He ran the offense at Arkansas before the debacle with Houston Nutt ran him off. He has turned Tulsa's offense into a scoring and yardage machine.

I had a feeling this offense was doomed from the start when we brought in someone named Clawson. Even though it is spelled differently, its still pronounced the same....and quite frankly, I am glad Jimmy didn't follow his mediocre brothers down to Knoxville.

I'll ask again. What coordinator,in their right mind is going to come to UT after this year?

Fulmer is done. Just be patient.

our offense functioned before he came, and now it doesnt...i blame clawson very much before he came. Sanders had functioning O's followed by 1 very bad year; clawson comes in and his first year puts UT's O near the bottom of the i-a...kinda hard not to put some blame on him

are you kidding me

we're now 114th, in both Total Offense, and Scoring Offense

Not surprising after putting up a whooping 6 points..that we dropped again this week

Total Defense is up from 14th to 11th

Can't believe with numbers like that, Scapegoat could be used in the same sentence

I'm sorry but Clawson needs to go just as much as Fulmer does. Watching that game last night made me more depressed than I will feel on Tues when Nobama gets elected.

I am amaze the the defense is so highly rated with the terrible field the offense gives them. They might be a top 10 defense if our offense was in the top 80.

If Fulmer throws Clawson overboard, he will just be in the water before Phil. Watch out Clawson, Phil will make quite a splash!!

Exactly. There is no way they could fire Clawson in a attempt to keep Fulmer. It does not make any sense at all. That would make it impossible to find a decent OC. As long as Fulmer's here, Clawson is here. Which should be about 3 more games. Although I still fear that in some moment of weakness they will give Phil one more chance.

Fulmerites are definately stating that as the reason and are either blind or ignorant not to know that their beloved leader was the one who hired him to begin with. Hey Fulmerites open your eyes and start holding the one who is truely accountable to that. Fulmer is the boss he does his hiring and firing only problem is he truely does not know what it takes to build a successful offense because he had Cut doing it for him for so many years. His speciality was the O line he sure is doing a bang up job of stepping in at practice and helping Brooks make these guys better. Why? Fulmer is smart enough to know to surround hisself with enough scapegoats so he can continue to mooch a payday while going after the legend Neylands record.

Fulmer's gone...Hamilton cannot allow the demise of this program forever. His own job security is at stake now. There are so many financial ramifications that people don't realize. Fans not coming to the game, no concession sales as a result, less apparel sold, less traffic at local businesses due to no traffic for games. All of these things plus a great many other are affected by the coach of UT's football program believe it or not. If he alienates the fan base, he and the university are, how do you say, PUCKED!!

is our qbacks good enough though
NO. But I wonder if Tahj Boyd is?!! With the recruiting class we are getting, I'm kind of worried to lose Fulmer. I know we'd be OK, but if he stays, fires Clawson, and plays a buttload of freshmen next year, we could see some signs of life! I don't know, I'm really at a loss for words

If there isn't an annoucement Monday I fear CPF will be staying. Clawson will be thrown overboard and made the scapegoat. No inside info just a gut feeling.

If that happens we would be lucky to get any respectable OC, why come to TN and have CPF ruin your reputation?
