Do we get a taste of the WILDBERY package against UAB to get Fla looking at it? Or do we wait to bring it out just for the Tebows?
(sorry if i missed this conversation elsewhere)

I would prefer We didn't bring it out at all...The G-Gun is a total waste and this one will be too..It's too CLEAR what the player is going to do...Run...Period

Tell me how the G-Gun is a total waste, and about only running did you see the O&W game?

the g-gun isn't a total waste if its run properly. the sweeps, however, are very predictable. if you noticed, one of the biggest gains of the night on monday came from the g-gun package when everyone thought jones was getting the ball and he handed it off to foster instead.

Like I said, everyone knows it going to be a run, I have not seen Jones throw the ball once...Not once and I do not honestly believe the coaching staff has any confidence in allowing him to throw it unless its a scrimmage...Please...We have a LOT more questions of offense than worrying about the G-Gun or the wildberry blast or the underwear buster or whatever stupid trick play they are working on now...Get the offense working properly and then worry about that other meaningless stuff.

there's more to it than that. even if defenses know it's going to be a run, you can still make them think about who has the ball.

i don't understand why you're so against it. with the way our primary offensive attack struggled monday, ut is gonna need all the help it can get.

its not lost on any of us that our offense NEEDS work. i'm just curious about seeing EB with the ball in his hands.
on the other hand, if they are practicing the wildberry, hopefully it doesnt take time away from getting our offense rolling.
but you have to figure it will be in the game plan for florida, because recent history assures me that we'll be able to run the ball down their throats AGAIN this year with our traditional run game.

Yep, we tried a package 3 plays this season, gaining only 30-40 yards. Such a waste. Let's pull it out of the play book.

Well gee wiz, If We are gaining that many yards then We should run it EVERY TIME then!!...And just how many scores did we get of those packages?...Zero my friend...Zero

FYI, the run by foster out of that package set us up in scoring position. and a few tds came out of that package last season. most notably against wisconsin in the outback bowl. how exactly is this a bad thing?

The great thing about it being a bad time is that you can be negative without letting little things like facts get in the way.

I say we break it out against florida. Also the option w/ Jones and Foster and the single wing. Pull out all the stops in the florida game.

It isn't a trick play. It's a legitimate formation that confuses the defense and loads up extra blockers. If run properly, it could help us win games. You are correct that execution needs to be perfected before using.

Imagine what the defense would think? Hardesty up the gut or off tackle, or G Jones run or option to Berry.

Of course everyone knows its a run. GJ takes it off tackle 3 or 4 times, then AF takes the ball for a big gain. Then he fumbles. Kidding.

I think the coaches know we'll need every weapon in the arsenal to beat UF. If GJ does throw it, I do believe it will be against UF. I'm not sure how affective it will be since I'm sure UF sees that in practice all the time.

But it shows that Gerald can throw out of it...he isn't limited to only running

Nobody questioned whether he could throw it. The question is whether he will get the go ahead to do it.

Probably need to get the starting QB used to throwing and get the basic offense down before we start concentrating on gimmicks though.
