Through 37 games, 133 at bats, AJ Simcox has not had an extra base hit. He's tied for third on the team in hits.

It's not like he got a lot last year, 4 dbls, 1 triple, but he was still 2nd with 26 RBI's. This year he has 7 RBI's.

He's batting .286, I mean...that's some crazy stuff.

Big game tomor...errr...today...GBO!

You would think with his size, AJ would have a little more pop in his bat. This will certainly be something that could affect his potential pro future. Hopefully, he'll find a way to put up more extra base hits and an occasional HR next season. He's come a long way from last year so a natural progression would be expected in this area.

It's just flukey, weird, unlucky...

The scouts know who AJ is and he will have a tough decision to make in June of 15. He has all of the measureables and a very high ceiling. He is a young soph and will go very high in the 15 draft.

I'm way more worried about Christin Stewart leaving.

He's a soph too. Both can't go until the 15 draft. They will be back next year but probably gone after that.

Good stuff. I did not know about that rule. Stewart will probably be a first rounder next year along with Cox.

I got to see Stewart for the first time in person Saturday, and he looks like a pro. Great tools. I was surprised by his arm.

First round would be a reach right now, but Stewart should get drafted in a signing round and will be hard to keep on campus after his junior year.

Simcox is tougher to predict. He's higher than Stewart on most early lists, but the complete lack of power this season can't be ignored. Personally, I think he'll find his power stroke and go pretty high next year.

I don't see how Stewart won't get drafted in the first round. He's a five tool player, and
the best all-around player on our team. He's also very productive.

Last year, there were 33 picks in the first round. 15 of them were high school players, and one came from a JC. That leaves 17 slots for college guys. Nine of the first round college guys were pitchers. That leaves 8 college position players in the whole country as first round picks. Of those 8 position players, only 3 were outfielders.

It was a fairly typical year. To be a first round outfielder out of college, you basically need to be a Hunter Renfroe, who dominated SEC competition in all phases of the game. Christin Stewart isn't there yet.

Don't get me wrong. He is having an excellent year, and his numbers compare favorably with UK's Austin Cousino (who was a freshman all-american and a pre-season all-american this year). It's just that a lot of names get tossed around as potential first rounders, but there are only so many picks, and there are tons of talented players out there.
