Serious question and would like common sense insight please. Do you think our problem at QB is because our WR’s aren’t coached well? JG holding the ball too long And HB doing the same and both getting sacked. JT throwing picks because he doesn’t want to get sacked and forces a throw or two ( JG did as well). I get JG staring down receivers but maybe he was waiting for that small opening that maybe our WR would get open.

Whole team had issues but there where a lot of replays showing Calloway, Jennings, and Palmer open and JG still had the ball in his hands. Jordan Rogers constantly talked about Jarrett not trusting what he was seeing.

I think JG looked worse this year because our WRs weren’t as good as last year.

My opinion is JG couldn’t throw anyone open. He saw things too late. Couldn’t process coverages and never moved help with his eyes. However WRs never had many opportunities to improvise their routes when protection held up and rarely did I see them break off and come back to the ball. Online protected well enough in providing a 4 second pocket. Ball had to be out even it’s a chuck OB

J.G couldn't hit simple throws I rewatched the Vandy game from this year and noticed just how well Bailey as a Fr. can hit throws J.G couldn't as a 5th year SR. If Bailey can have a good offseason and also a normal one then there may be hope for our offense. I think once he gets his rhythm down in this offense we could be really good if Chaney is aloud to open it up.

I believe our WR’s are coached well. Tee is a great WR coach. Look at his successes at USC as a position coach. Several of his WR’s are in the league and didn’t come to USC as WR’s. Let’s see how good they are next year when “his” guys are getting all the reps on the field.
I don’t think our QB saw the field well. He threw a decent deep ball but never ever looked good throwing the ball middle of the field. Always late or behind.

We haven’t had a group of WRs that could get go separation or beat man coverage in a long time. Yes our QB play has been bad but so has the WR play.

I disagree with this. I think our WRs have had separation, but you have to have a QB that knows when to get the ball there. It should be rare you have a wide open guy standing ready to be hit. I think if we can improve our QB play we will see our WRs have been getting open plenty.

He’s 21 days from his contract expiring. Will he be here next year?

Early in the season I thought only the RBs and D line were exceeding expectations.

I guess our next move should be to fire Graham

No they really haven’t. Really watch and you will see them very rarely get separation. Look at UGA, UF and Bamas WRs. It’s not even close.

Pruitt's position coaches are viewed as better recruiters that actual position coaches and teachers of the skills for the position, their recruiting ability is still suspect, it is one thing to be at Alabama, Georgia, Florida State or Southern Cal and recruit well, but it takes more recruiting talent and credibility at Tennessee given the different high school talent within 50 miles of the campus, our passing game is abysmal, need fresh position coaches, fresh perspective necessary to be competitive in the SEC.

Calloway and Jennings made Guarantano look a LOT better than he actually was last season and it took our esteemed brain trust nearly a full season this year to figure it out.
Go back and watch all of their catches. They won 50/50 balls or separated enough for JG to see then throw. Never did they catch a slant or a post from JG. Palmer made a couple of ridiculous catches. The occasional back shoulder throw seemed more like luck. I respect JG for hanging tough, but he flat out sucked.

JG holds the ball too long. Stares down WRs as an issue. WRs weren't off on too many routes, but when you have 3rd and 3, you should throw a quick slant....not a 45 yard post route. When you have a QB having trouble making his reads, you make it a quick passing game and force him to throw the ball quickly or throw it away....things like that.

I am guessing that practice JG made the right reads and game JG just didn't do the same. Only thing that makes sense, I think some of the sacks and bad throws come from not knowing just to throw the ball away. I think he had all the tools to make all the throws, but guessing had a mental block in games.

Oh yeah.

Jennings was the best WR we have had at contested catches in recent memory. Palmer and Johnson stepped in with some great catches this year too.

The lack of young playmakers developing this season on the outside has me concerned for next season with Bailey. Johnson and Palmer gone then who is he throwing to besides Hyatt?

I think he will be much better than Guarantano ( not a high bar I know) but I am not sure he will be the kind of QB to really elevate the team just yet.

I sure hope so, I am no insider so your guess is as good as mine. I hope all the rumors are pure crap

I can’t honestly say that I’ve heard any rumors about him not returning. But letting your current best recruiter get to 20 days on his contract is telling.
